Japanese Title: Let's Go to the Galar Region! An Encounter with Hibanny!!

Ash and Goh take a jaunt to the Galar region to study a native phenomenon where local Pokémon grow to gigantic proportions. While settling down in the region's capitol city, Wyndon, a bunch of local Pokémon steal Ash's bag. But their Rotom Phones cannot identify the Pokémon immediately, so they will need to figure out whether they are dealing with a new kind of Pokémon.
This episode contains examples of the following tropes:
- The Artful Dodger: Scorbunny and its Nickit pals are definitely this, as they are only looking to feed themselves.
- Bad Liar: Goh tells the baker that Scorbunny is his Pokémon...except the baker has known this Scorbunny for quite some time and can easily tell that Goh's fibbing.
- Buffy Speak: Ash calls the scones "little tiny things with the great smell".
- Failed a Spot Check: It turns out the Rotom Phones can't identify Scorbunny because it has covered itself in dirt.
- I Shall Taunt You: Scorbunny and the Nickit like doing the Eyelid Pull Taunt. When it steal's Ash's bag, Scorbunny does that and smacks its butt at him and Pikachu.
- Refusal of the Call: Goh decides he wants Scorbunny to be his partner. But Scorbunny doesn't want to leave its Nickit friends behind in Wyndon. For their part, the Nickit decide Scorbunny will be better off leaving with Goh.
- Rule of Symbolism: Scorbunny cleans itself off after deciding to join Goh.
- Scissors Cuts Rock: Downplayed, and eventually Defied. Ash tried to have Pikachu use Iron Tail on Scorbunny, a move that the Fire-type resists. After Scorbunny crashes into a mailbox, Pikachu knocks it out with Electroweb.
- Series Continuity Error: The Pokédex not recognising a Scorbunny covered in dust seems odd, given that at least twice, previous models were able to recognise Meowth wearing a more elaborate disguise.
