Japanese Title: Get Pikachu!!

Original Airdate: August 30, 2020

US Airdate: December 4, 2020

Looking over all the Pokémon he caught so far, Goh decides that his next catch will be a Pikachu.

  • Bait-and-Switch: After Goh's Pikachu chases Ash's Pikachu behind a rock with a Thunder Stone, there's a flash of evolution and a Raichu leaps out. At first, Ash is worried that his Pikachu evolved...but it turns out to have been a wild Raichu, with his Pikachu still running from Goh's.
  • Big "WHAT?!": Ash gives one when Goh declares he'll be catching a Pikachu.
  • Chekhov's Gun: The Thunder Stone Goh's Pikachu tried to give Ash's Pikachu before eventually giving it to Goh comes in handy at the climax.
  • Crippling Overspecialization: Team Rocket's machine was designed to capture Pikachu and only Pikachu. When Goh's Pikachu evolves into Raichu halfway down, the change in size destroys the hose.
  • Does Not Know His Own Strength: Played for Laughs when Goh's newly-evolved Raichu rushes to hug Pikachu. Due to her increased mass, she ends up accidentally body-checking him.
  • Face of an Angel, Mind of a Demon: Team Rocket's Buneary and Minccino may look cute, but they are vicious little fighters.
  • Internal Reveal: Goh is let in on the fact Ash's Pikachu doesn't want to evolve.
  • Mythology Gag: The Pikachu marching in unison is a nod to the Pikachu Invasion summer events in Yokohama, since there wasn't one in 2020.
  • Needle in a Stack of Needles: Team Rocket succeeds in capturing Ash's Pikachu alongside the other wild Pikachu, but unfortunately are unable to tell him apart from the others.
  • Oh, Crap!: Ash's Pikachu reacting to the nice female Pikachu chasing him with a Thunder Stone.
  • Shout-Out: "Will the real twerp's Pikachu please spill the beans?" Naturally, none of them stand up.
  • Took a Level in Badass: Goh's Pikachu gives consent to take one so Goh can throw the Thunder Stone to evolve her into a Raichu and save her pack.
  • Troll: When Team Rocket is trying to find Ash's Pikachu among the other Pikachu they captured, none of the Pikachu make it easy for them.
(All the Pikachu respond to Meowth's request for Ash's Pikachu to come out)
    Meowth: NOT FUNNY!
  • Unwanted Assistance: At the end of the episode, Goh's Raichu keeps urging her new friends to eat the berries she gathered for them, despite them already being full from the ones she just gave them.
