While still in Galar, Ash and Goh encounter a Sobble and Goh ends up catching it. However, Sobble has some fears that Goh needs to help it overcome.
- Big Eater: Sobble eats at least three plates of curry and some croquettes on the side.
- Food Porn: All those Galarian curries look delicious.
- Funny Background Event: Team Rocket’s balloon flying off while Ash and Goh are looking for Sobble.
- Innocently Insensitive: Goh's first action with Sobble after catching it is to make it fight a Silicobra without considering its feelings.
- It's All My Fault: Goh beats himself up for Sobble running away because of how he impatiently made it fight even though it was terrified.
- Ocular Gushers: Sobble, full stop. It also has the ability to invoke this on others, including Goh's Rotom Phone.
- Onion Tears: A flashback of Mr. Mime chopping onions gives Ash and Goh an idea of how to block Sobble's tears- swimming goggles!
- Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Capturing a Pokémon is not the equivalent of it being immediately capable of fighting. Goh tries to have his newly captured Sobble fight a Silicobra, but Sobble runs off in fear.
- You Are Better Than You Think You Are: When Jessie notes that Sobble is nothing but a pathetic weakling, Goh retorts that scared and terrified is not equivalent to weak and encourages Sobble to escape the cage it was trapped in.
