Just as the new champion was being crowned, an Ultra Wormhole opens up to reveal an angry Guzzlord. It is up to the Kahunas of Alola, along with Ash and his classmates to deal with the invasion when it turns out the Ultra Beast didn't come alone.
- Big Damn Heroes: Twice:
- First the Tapus show up to restrain the first Guzzlord and Nangandel shows up to help with the third one.
- Call-Back: Professor Kukui as the Masked Royal and Professor Burnet references Ash's experiences with Guzzlord.
- Combination Attack: How each of the three Guzzlord are beaten:
- The first, regular one is restrained by the Tapus and is blown into the Ultra Wormhole by the Kahunas attacking it with their Z-Moves.
- The second, shiny one is beaten when Gladion, Hau and Ash's classmates hit it with their Z-Moves sending it flying into the wormhole.
- The third, giant, shiny one is beaten when Ash and Kukui (as the Masked Royal) have Pikachu and Naganadel attacking with a dual Gigavolt Havoc.
- Curb-Stomp Battle:
- Bewear is on the receiving end of this by the first Guzzlord until Team Rocket saves her.
- Each of the three Guzzlord are beaten by Ash and the gang's Limit Breaks
- The giant, shiny Guzzlord easily beats Professor's Kukui's Lucario
- Even Evil Has Standards: When Team Rocket sees Bewear getting pummeled by the first Guzzlord, they use their Wobbufett mecha to save her, deliver their motto and fly off with Bewear and Stufful.
- The Bus Came Back: Poipole returns, now evolved into a Naganadel.
- Internal Reveal: Ash and Rotom finally learn that Kukui is the Masked Royal.
- Limit Break: Ash, the Masked Royal, the Island Kahunas, Gladion, Hau and Ash's classmates use these to send the Guzzlord flying into the Ultra Wormholes.
- Oh, Crap!:
- A triple one upon realizing Kukui's cover is blown.
- Stufful makes one after realising it made Bewear let her guard down against Guzzlord.
- Riddle for the Ages: It's never explained why the Guzzlord suddenly invaded.
- Swapped Roles:
- After multiple saves by Bewear, Team Rocket save her and Stufful from Guzzlord's pummelling and blast off with them.
- Lillie is also among The Cavalry that saves her older brother Gladion from one of the other Guzzlord's attacks.
- The Unmasking: Kukui's mask comes undone during the aftershock of the double Gigavolt Havocs.
- The Worf Effect: Bewear puts up a good fight against one of the Guzzlord for a while but eventually starts getting pummelled, requiring Team Rocket to rescue her. This marks the one and only occasion another Pokemon has successfully overpowered her in the entire series.
- Worf Had the Flu: It's worth noting that Bewear only lost the upper hand after she was distracted by Stufful losing its grip of her.
