Meanwhile, back at the ranch, a developer has set his eyes on Kiawe's ranch to turn it into a resort. A battle will ensue for Kiawe and his family to protect their homeland.
This episode contains examples of the following tropes:
- Big Brother Instinct: When Electivire attacks Mimi, Turtonator protects her from the blow without command from Kiawe. Naturally Kiawe is pissed that Viren would turn on his little sister.
- Forged Message: Viren is determined to get Kiawe's ranch by hook or by crook. To that end, he forges a deed to claim he already owns the ranch.
- Taking the Bullet: Viren commands Electivire to use Thunder on Mimi and Ash. Turtonator steps in front, though is knocked out by the power.
- Took a Level in Badass: This is the first time Kiawe's Marowak does Inferno Overdrive.
- Would Hurt a Child: Viren would let his Pokémon attack Mimi, a little girl, to show how much of a dick he is. Even Paul at his worst would never have done that. Thankfully Turtonator rescues Mimi.
