Japanese Title: Lilie Soars Through the Air! The PokéSled Jump Tournament!!
Original Airdate: February 1, 2018
US Airdate: July 9, 2018
The twerps make their first trip to Ula'ula Island, and visit a ski resort on Mount Hokulani. There, they find a sled jumping exhibition, and Snowy finds a new idol in an Alolan Ninetales.
This episode contains examples of the following tropes:
- Astonishingly Appropriate Appearance: Hala's jacket has similar color schemes to Crabominable, while his winter hat resembles its "hair". He even lampshades it when his Crabrawler evolves.
- The Bus Came Back: One of the competitors is a Sky Trainer who haven't been seen since Kalos.
- Catch Your Death of Cold: In the Japanese End-of-Episode Silliness, Kukui, Kiawe, and Hala — the first two of which showed up in their usual Walking Shirtless Scene mode — had caught colds before their trip home.
- Exposed to the Elements: Hala, Professor Kukui, and Kiawe all show up at Mt. Lanakila in their regular attire rather than ones more suited for the cold weather. They believe they can endure the freezing conditions, but a passing breeze gives them one cold reality check.
- Fat and Proud: During Hala's part in the sled tournament, he opens up his jacket & beats his large stomach to imitate Belly Drum, while also proudly calling it the "Island Kahuna-stylized Belly Drum". He also attempted Belly Drum earlier to try to get warm.
- Meet Cute: Just like with the Kanto Ninetales during the Kanto episodes, Snowy has a friendly meeting with the Alolan Ninetales.
- Noodle Incident: Lillie mentions she had taught Snowy the move Hail beforehand, despite having solely used Powder Snow up until this point.
- Took a Level in Badass: Snowy learns Aurora Veil. Also, Hala's Crabrawler evolves into Crabominable after beating a wild Sneasel.
- Walking Shirtless Scene: Deconstructed. Kukui and Kiawe showed up like this as usual, but it was too cold for them to stay that way. Even Hala, who wasn't shirtless but was in his usual clothing, felt the chill. They bundle up after the title sequence, though Kukui keeps his coat open.
