Braixen goes through an existential crisis when her stick snaps on her during Showcase practice. Can James be the one to help her get through the loss?
This episode contains examples of the following tropes:
- The Cameo: James' mother (voice-only) in a flashback, with her original JP seiyuu, Mako Hyodo.
- Comically Missing the Point: The heroes never notice James take off his disguise, and after blasting him off with the rest of Team Rocket, they realise "Jeeves" has mysteriously vanished.
- Licked by the Dog: Subtle case, when an inconsolable Braixen runs off, she settles and huffs beside James in his disguise.
- Paper-Thin Disguise: James posing as "Jeeves". Especially noticeable case because it's a recycled disguise that the twerps saw unveiled in a previous episode. They still never figure out it's James.
- Pet the Dog: James, comparing Braixen's plight to that of him and his bottlecap collection, decides to help Serena out with no ulterior motives in mind.
- Security Blanket: After having her stick wand broken, Braixen become more ill-tempered than usual.
- Took a Level in Badass: In the end, Braixen learns Fire Blast with the broken stick.
- Wrecked Weapon: Braixen's stick is broken in half, and then utterly destroyed when it's used to channel a Fire Blast.
