Elesa seems excited to see a Pikachu.
Ash and co. arrive at the Nimbasa Gym but not only has Bianca gotten there first, the gym is also being used for a fashion show, starring none other than Elesa the gym leader, who uses Electric Pokémon. She agrees to battle Bianca and then Ash, but the plans are disrupted when Bianca's father shows up intending to take her home!
Tropes
- Cast from Hit Points: Zebstrika's Wild Charge is powerful but it causes recoil damage.
- Curb-Stomp Battle: Elesa's Zebstrika wipes the floor with Bianca's team by itself.
- How We Got Here: Flashbacks from Bianca's journey with Ash, Cilan, and Iris. These flashbacks never appeared in previous episodes, especially travelling in the forest during the nighttime.
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Bianca's father. Hoo boy. He requested that if Elesa defeats Bianca, Bianca would have to return home. Bianca lost the match, and must return. However, Ash challenged him, but if Ash lost, he would have to end his entire journey. Ash lost, and must avow to that promise. However, the father decided to null the stipulations after a change of heart, allowing both Bianca and Ash to continue their journeys.
- Luminescent Blush:
- Bianca and every girl to Elesa.
- Elesa to Pikachu. Considering that Pikachu are not from Unova region, Elesa has never seen one up close.
- Oh, Crap!: Major yikes here. Averted with the above mentioned change of heart as mentioned above:
- Bianca about to end her journey had she lost to Elesa as requested by her dad.
- Ash about to end his journey had he lost his match with Bianca's dad.
- Running Gag: Not surprisingly, Ash gets knocked into the water again by Bianca.
- Statuesque Stunner: Elesa. The photo seemingly shows 1 head taller than Cilan.
- What the Hell, Hero?: Iris mentioning of Ash returning back to Pallet Town after losing to Bianca's father. Ash yelled back at Iris, while Axew and Pikachu also do the same.
