One last fiasco happens before everyone ships out. In the dead of night, a thieving Pokemon named Scere breaks into the Pokemon Center and robs everyone blind. If it weren't for Croagunk, Rockler, and Pikachu, Ash and his group of pals would have been unfortunate victims as well. After offering their condolences, they head out to Fimbulvetr Town, the next place that contains a Gym.
Too bad Marina failed to mention the drastic shift in climate.
This necessitates a quick detour so they don't freeze to death. A Pokemon Mart contains all they need to brave the wintry weather. Ash finishes his shopping much quicker than the others and goes outside to drink in their new sights. That's when Team Rocket pops up to do what they do best: steal Pikachu. With the help of their new friends, Spife and Eacon, it looks as if they might succeed this time.
In fine form, a mysterious new friend lends a hand and takes out Team Rocket without a hitch. Her name is Winter Isolda, and she's out newest Tenlan ally.

- Good Samaritan: Winter saves Ash and Pikachu out of the goodness of her heart.
- An Ice Person: Winter uses Ice-types. Yes, she is also a nice person.
- Shrinking Violet: Winter withers under the attention of Ash's friends, especially Brock's.
- Troll It's implied Marina kept Ash in the dark about the cold as revenge for being beaten, cementing her as this.
