While staying in Manehatten City trying to decide where to head for Flash's final Gym Battle, the group discovers a boutique run by Suri Polomare, who focuses entierly on fads and outer beauty and ignoring how the Pokémon themselves feel about their looks. After meeting Coco Pommel and hearing how Suri has mistreated her in the past and ran her out of her own store, they decide to help her spread her own fashion style.
- Adaptational Villainy: Suri was a Mean Boss and False Friend in canon, with her absolute worst act being stealing Rarity's fabric. Here, she eventually forces Coco out of the shop, buying up her half for herself instead of sharing it equally. She then proceeds to enforce her own opinions of fashion by focusing on whatever the current fads are, and ruining the dream of her old mentor Charity Kindheart. When she finds out Coco is having her own fashion show, she tries to attack Coco in the middle of it.
- Cats Are Mean: Suri owns a vicious Glameow and tries to have it attack Coco.
- Curb-Stomp Battle: After Fee-Fee evolves into Milotic, she easily defeats Suri's Glameow with a single Water Pulse.
- Everything's Better with Sparkles: Deconstructed; one of the fads Suri follows is how Shiny Pokémon are the biggest thing at the moment, and she recommends painting a Pokémon to make it look like a Shiny, even painting her own Glameow. It is clear the Pokémon she does this too don't enjoy it though, and Suri is completly unreasonable with her visions, even declaring a Paras needs to be painted a darker shade of orange even though it is already orange.
- Fix Fic: The author notes at the end of the chapter explain that this chapter is meant to address a season 1 episode from the anime, which gave a similar lesson but the author felt wasn't properly handled.
- Get Out!: Suri yells at everyone to get out of her store for arguing against her methods.
- Pet the Dog: One trainer notices how unhappy their Dodrio is with the makeover Suri gave it, and another is upset when Suri calls their Paras ugly. Shortly afterwards they both leave Suri's store and start cleaning up their Pokémon.
- Power of Love: Coco has shown her Feebas Fee-Fee constant love ever since she found her and constantly says how beautiful she is due to having a beautiful soul. When the crowd at Coco's fashion show also cheer on Fee-Fee and call her beautiful, the fish smiles at the priase, feeling truly beautiful for the first time in her life, and evolving into Milotic because of this.
- Surprisingly Realistic Outcome: Rather than Coco winning the store back from Suri in a Pokémon battle, Suri ruins her own reputation by trying to have her Glameow attack Coco in the middle of her show unprovoked, which was witnessed and recorded by several people, including some of her own customers. With everyone refusing to do business with Suri after witnessing her true colors, she has no choice but to sell her shop back to Coco.
- Tears of Joy: Coco's eyes fill with tears upon seeing Fee-Fee evolve into a Milotic.
- Wingding Eyes: Rarity's eyes fill with hearts at the sight of Milotic.
