Recap / Pokemon EA 50 Hopper The Lost Heir PT 3

Go To

Cadmus, the exiled son of Drayce, has returned to the Dragon Kingdom, seeking ownership of the prince of dragons to lead his kingdom into a new age. Flash and Hopper must face him and his Galvern to save Titan and stop Cadmus' insane schemes, and Hopper finally fulfills his destiny.

  • Abdicate the Throne: After Hopper completes his Rite of Passage by learning Wyvern Wing, Titan steps down as King of the Dragons and passes the title on to Hopper.
  • Awesome Moment of Crowning: Titan passes the title of King of Dragons to his son Hopper, making Hopper the new king. This includes having all the Dragon-types present and all of the humans, including Flash and his friends, bowing to Hopper.
Drayce: ALL HAIL THE KING OF DRAGONS!
  • Badass in Distress: Titan is kidnapped by Cadmus and held hostage to force Flash and Hopper to battle him for ownership over Hopper.
  • Big Damn Heroes: When Cadmus orders Titan to be executed when he finds himself suddenly losing to Flash and Hopper, Springer and Skyler swoop in to save the day, with Springer knocking aside the pair of Sneasel that were about to do the deed with a pair of Aura Spheres, and Skyler quickly frees Titan from the ropes he was trapped in, thus removing the only leverage Cadmus had.
  • Bittersweet Ending: Cadmus is defeated and imprisoned for his crimes, Hopper gets together with his new love interest Princess, and he is crowned the new King of Dragons. However, Flash must leave Hopper in the Dragon Kingdom so he may lead them, leading to everyone saying a tearful goodbye to him. Though Flash is given a dragon egg as a thank you gift by the kingdom, hoping he will raise it as well as he did with Hopper.
  • Break the Cutie: Shine takes Hopper's departure very hard, tackling him in a hug and crying into his chest, upset at losing her best friend.
  • Cheaters Never Prosper: Cadmus blatantly cheats during his battle with Flash, having his Galvern attack Flash during the battle instead of Hopper, and when the battle turns against him he tries to get Flash and Hopper to surrender by threatening to execute Titan. This ends up failing him when Springer rescues Titan, leaving him defenseless.
  • Continuity Nod: Hopper and Princess become mates with the Skeidran bonding pose, similar to the previous chapter where a pair of Altaria became mates via a Mating Dance.
  • Cry into Chest: Shine does this to Hopper, devastated that he is staying in the Dragon Kingdom and she is losing her best friend.
  • The Exile: Cadmus was exiled from the Dragon Kingdom after he challenged his father for ownership over Titan and lost, but refused to see the error of his insane plans to have the draconids invade and conquer the surface world.
  • Fourth-Date Marriage: Despite having only met a few days ago, Hopper and Princess become mates after Princess becomes impressed by his strength and kind heart.
  • Heroic Second Wind: When things start looking bad for Hopper in his battle against Galvern, after hearing everyone cheer for him and Flash's reassurance he learns Wyvern Wing, giving him the boost needed to overpower Galvern.
  • Hospitality for Heroes: At the end of the chapter, Flash is given a dragon egg as a final thank you for all he did for them. Though they know that it will never replace Hopper, they know Flash will raise it just as well as he did with Hopper.
  • Put on a Bus: Flash reluctantly leaves Hopper in the Dragon Kingdom under Ryu's care, realizing that they need him there as their new king and so he can stay with his new mate Princess.
  • Wham Episode: Cadmus is defeated and the Dragon Kingdom is saved, but Hopper needs to stay in the Dragon Kingdom to become the next king and take care of everyone, leading to a tearful goodbye from everyone.
