Recap / Pokemon EA 28 Where The Stampalo Roam

Go To

The group finally reaches Appaloosa, but they'll have to save the town first from an unexpected threat.

  • Actually, I Am Him: A double reveal involving Braeburn.
    • When Spike compliments that the produce in Appaloosa could give Sweet Apple Acres a run for their money, Braeburn casually reveals that he actually is a part of the Apple family, Applejack's cousin to be exact.
    • As Thunderhooves rants about the modernizations introduced, he reveals that Braeburn was the one who opened the gym in Appaloosa, much to Flash's surprise.
  • Animal Stampede: The conflict of the chapter revolves around a Dunsparce startling a herd of Stampalo into a stampede, which has to be stopped before they cause unwanton destruction.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Thunderhooves is introduced as a prickly reactionary who looks down on Braeburn for changing the traditional ways of life. However, when his methods fail to stop a startled Stampalo stampede, Thunderhooves is humbled enough to thank Braeburn for stopping the crisis with his own unorthodox strategy.
  • In Name Only: Appaloosa City is small enough to be considered more of a town, contrary to its name. Justified, as Twilight explains that the Appaloosans have wanted to stick with the traditional ways of life that they learned from desert Equestrians.
  • Noodle Incident: Braeburn mentions that the Appaloosan gym is closed because the last trainer beat the Gym leader with a powerful Frostoak.
