There's a new tough guy in town, and he means business. What will become of this new player, now that he's appeared in the Midnight Channel? Yu and his friends aim to put their clues together and unravel the mystery before this fearsome delinquent becomes the next victim.

This episode contains examples of:

  • The Comically Serious: Aika maintains a neutral expression and voice even when delivering Chie's food to her in the middle of Kanji chasing the gang.
  • Compressed Adaptation: The first rank of Yukiko's Social Link is adapted in this episode, and that's all Yu needs to make full use of the Priestess Arcana.
  • Lampshade Hanging: When Aika drives by Kanji on her motor scooter to deliver the two bowls of nikudon that Chie ordered, Kanji lets out a "Huh? What the hell?" followed by Yosuke commenting on how weird Aika delivering the food to Chie in the middle of a chase scene is as well as Chie trying to pay for it and Yukiko offers her 100 yen to help Chie pay.
  • I Always Wanted to Say That:
    • Margaret also uses this trope at the beginning of the episode, in regards to welcoming Yu to the Velvet Room while Igor is absent.
    • Invoked by Yosuke & Chie whilst Kanji is chasing them - Yosuke tells Chie that she should hang back & deal with Kanji whilst the others escape, since she'd be able to say the "You guys go on ahead, I'll deal with this guy!" line from action movies. Chie admits he has a point. Yukiko urges Chie to not let Yosuke try and trick her.
  • Oh, Crap!: Whenever Kanji spots the group, they have this reaction. Also both of Yosuke and Chie's reaction after Chie accidentally says 'strange'(Japanese)/'Gay'(English) to Kanji.
  • The Stinger: Kanji has been thrown into the TV World. Upon seeing Shadow Kanji onscreen, Yu's reaction is a Flat "What".
