Recap / Peeking Through The Fourth Wall Episode 23

Go To

Lincoln is on the couch with all his older sisters except Luna. The reason Lisa isn't present is because, with Grammy around, she has decided not to appear in every episode, but don't worry— she's not leaving the show entirely. He then tells Grammy that the author, being Austrian, does not speak English fluently but, despite complaining in the last episode, Grammy has no problem with this. They will be reading The Sleeping Boy.

It begins on a sunny Saturday morning with the Loud sisters eating breakfast, but they notice that one of them is missing and they decide to count (even though, as Lori points out, they could just look.) When fanfic Lucy counts herself as six instead of seven, they realise it's Lincoln who's missing and go up to find him still in bed. Leni pulls out her handy... something... photographs him, and the real Louds wonder what the object is.

The sisters try to wake fanfic Lincoln up, but Lincoln (the real one) thinks that it's normal to sleep in on a Saturday. Lynn says that she wakes up early on a Saturday, but he just calls her a maniac. Fanfic Lincoln wakes up and sleepily goes to the bathroom, but doesn't come down. They go up there to check and find that he's fallen asleep while brushing his teeth. The real Luan wonders if he's a narcoleptic and Leni doesn't know what that means, thinking it means one who does drugs.

Fanfic Lori yells at Lincoln and he falls asleep again. She decides he needs help getting dressed, but none of them want to do it. Eventually, Lori does and they take him downstairs and give him breakfast, but he falls asleep while eating. At this point, Lori thinks that this is clearly not normal and they should take him to the doctor.

The fanfic sisters are wondering why their brother is so sleepy and Lucy has him do the dishes. Then, they wonder what they will do that day... even though earlier, they had big plans. Then, it's revealed that the plan was to watch a movie... in the evening. They hear water running and find out that Lincoln has fallen asleep again.

Fanfic Lynn suggests they play sports, which the real Louds point out is Lynn's answer to everything, but the real Lynn says that it's always a good time to play sports. Her siblings suggest situations and Lynn comes up with excuses to play sports then, until she admittedly goes too far when she suggests casket surfing at a funeral. Fanfic Lynn explains that people who play sports are energetic, so they should have Lincoln jog to wake him up.

The sisters play "not it", but then they all take him jogging anyway, and they go to Ketcham Park, where they somehow count to measure how well they're running. Fanfic Lincoln somehow falls asleep despite them running in single file and Leni carries him to Vanzilla by the feet. Everyone, in and out of the fanfic, thinks that's a bad idea, and Leni demonstrates all the different ways she can carry Lincoln.

Fanfic Lynn then decides to take Lincoln to school where they can take him swimming in the pool. She's gotten the key from the coach due to her athletic prowess, and the real Lynn says that she wishes that were true so she can eat a certain kind of snack her coach has... which was discontinued years ago.

Everyone changes into swimwear and fanfic Leni tells Lynn to shower before going into the pool, which causes debate among the real Louds over whether pre-pool showering is necessary or not. Fanfic Lori puts a floatie on Lincoln and throws him into the pool, with a typo that even Grammy can't correct. This doesn't wake up Lincoln, so they give up and go home, and Lynn Sr. texts Lori, saying he will be taking Rita out that night.

At dinner (mashed potatoes and sauerkraut), fanfic Lincoln falls asleep again and the girls go to watch the movie without him despite having wanted him to watch it earlier. Even more confusing, they claim he was in their way, and they drink out of beakers. Fanfic Lori dramatically refuses to... turn off her phone.

The sisters watch the movie, but it makes them sleepy and they fall asleep. Fanfic Lincoln finally wakes up, and he watches the rest of the movie, but then he yawns. Thankfully, he doesn't fall asleep again, and he takes the sisters up one by one and puts them to bed, then goes to bed himself. The end.

With the story over, Luan jokingly wonders if the moral is "never try to wake Lincoln up early on a Saturday", then they all go to bed for real and everyone gets a goodnight kiss from Lori, even Grammy.
