Leslie: Are you even listening to yourself? You're defending the library now? Ron, the library! Of all the horrifying miserable things in the world.

Andy has taken over as the shoeshine stand operator at City Hall, replacing "Old Gus", who insults everybody during a farewell party. Later, Mark breaks the bad news to Leslie that the Library Department has placed a planning claim for Lot 48. Although Ann would like a library, the two departments are embroiled in a bitter feud. Ron is particularly angry to learn his ex-wife Tammy, who he insists is evil incarnate, is the new library director.

Leslie decides to confront Tammy directly, only to find Tammy seems to be a friendly woman who instantly agrees to let Leslie have Lot 48 as a "professional courtesy". Impressed, Leslie brings Tammy to the parks department so she can talk to Ron and work out their differences. Tammy and an agitated Ron go off to have coffee, and Donna insists to Leslie that the arrangement is a mistake because the two act crazy when they are together. At a local diner, Ron and Tammy immediately start a very loud argument in front of the other patrons. Moments later, however, the two are publicly making out on the table in front of everyone. They then rush off to a motel, where they frantically remove their clothing before even entering the building.

Ann and Mark run into Andy, who tries to flirt with Ann in front of Mark, and openly admits he plans to win her back from him. Mark asks advice from Tom, who suggests Mark should take the high road (although Tom tells the documentary crew that he never takes the high road, but tells everyone else to do so, so there is more room for him on "the low road"). Mark tries to have a gentlemanly discussion with Andy, who continues to insist he loves Ann, pointing to the many photos he has of her around his shoeshine station. Finally, Ann confronts Andy and tells him to stop discussing her with Mark, as well as to remove her photos from the wall.

A cheery and singing Ron (who is wearing his "Tiger Woods" outfit, a red shirt and black pants he puts on after having sex) openly discusses the details his sexual exploits with Tammy to an uncomfortable Leslie. Although she is initially pleased with the results of her meddling, Leslie soon realizes Tammy is using sex to manipulate Ron to give her control of Lot 48. Leslie confronts Tammy, who admits to the plot and brags that this is how the library operates. Leslie tries to get Ron to break up with Tammy, but he insists he cannot confront her without Leslie's help. The two go to the library, where Ron starts to cave in when Tammy flirts with him. Leslie tells Ron to do whatever will make him happy, even if it means giving up the lot. Ron, impressed that anyone would put his own needs before their own, decides instead to break up with Tammy and give the lot back to Leslie. After breaking the news to Tammy off-camera, he leaves the library with a push-pin stuck in his forehead, and part of his mustache missing, and he and Leslie flee the library. The two share a drink, where Leslie encourages Ron to insult Tammy.

Tropes

  • Achilles' Heel: Tammy is this for Ron. She will seduce him into submission and he will become subservient to her, something even he recognizes as being his biggest weakness.
  • Amicable Exes: Leslie is a firm believer that all exes should be this. She soon realizes this does not apply to Ron and Tammy.
  • Belligerent Sexual Tension: Ron and Tammy will scream and fight to high noon with no regard for privacy whatsoever. Then, they will get really physical, and still have no regard for privacy.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Tammy seems nice at first, but is the most manipulative bitch in the series.
  • Broken Tears: Ron, of all people, breaks down when he realizes he's fallen under Tammy's spell and he can't resist her.
  • Call-Back: Tammy had been mentioned before in "Rock Show".
  • Casting Gag: Tammy is Ron's ex. They are played by Megan Mullally and Nick Offerman, who are married.
  • Dating Catwoman: Ron and Tammy are exes, and the heads of rivaling departments.
  • Demonic Possession: Once he gets a grip on himself and realizes (yet again) that she's nothing but bad news, Ron states that being under Tammy's influence feels similar to this.
  • Dying Declaration of Hate: In an interview segment, Ron states that he hopes both of his ex-wives will be by his side when he's on his deathbed so he can tell them both to go to hell with his last dying breath.
  • Freeze-Frame Bonus: The book titles on Tammy's shelves foreshadow her personality as we later come to know it.
  • Has a Type: Ron states plainly that he likes brunettes.
  • Hypocritical Humor: When Ron asks for Leslie's help in breaking up with Tammy:
Leslie: I don't think I should get involved in this.
Ron: Oh, now you don't want to get involved?
  • I Warned You: Donna warns Leslie that nothing good will come from bringing Ron and Tammy back together. Leslie doesn't believe it until she sees how Tammy manipulates Ron with the promise of more sex in exchange for Lot 48. Donna writes, "I told ya so," on a note to rub things further in Leslie's face.
  • Manipulative Bitch: Tammy loves to manipulate men to her will. Apparently, this is a common practice for the ladies of the Library Department.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Ron becomes a pliable and very giddy sexual animal around Tammy.
  • Running Gag: The Parks department's hatred of the library.
  • Sitcom Arch-Nemesis: The Library Department is this to the Parks Department.
  • Stalker Shrine: Andy sets up one of these to Ann in his shoeshine station.
  • The Vamp: Tammy is a very sexual person and is also a conniving and evil jerk that has no problem using her feminine wiles to get her way. She lampshades this when she says she'd rather be a Cleopatra than an Eleanor Roosevelt (to Leslie's disgust).
