• Big Word Shout: Grampu, Uma, and Kako's ghost noises scare Oobi enough for him to raise his voice: "STOP!!!"

• Cat Scare: One of the sounds that Oobi is scared of turned out to be a cat^note Would later be Mrs. Johnson's pet cat, Kitty.

• Irony: An interview has Oobi interviewing a kid who is scared of animals like bears. What does she have to make her feel brave? A teddy bear.
• Scary Shadow Fakeout: At one point, Grampu plays a prank on the kids by pretending to be a spider shadow.
