Short Summary

Capone "Gang" Bege, his family, and his crew go searching for Chiffon's sister, Lola.

Long Summary

Having escaped Totto Land and stealing a new ship, the Firetank Pirates try to find Chiffon's sister, Lola. However, they can't cross the Red Line to Paradise because of the Navy presence during the Reverie. At a random island, they bump into a stranger who claims to have sighted Lola on Dressrosa.

The Firetank Pirates arrive at Dressrosa and split up to ask about Lola's whereabouts. The Germ Pirates are also attacking Dressrosa, infecting people with the Kiss-Kiss Germ, but are put down by Bege for interfering with their search.

Meanwhile, it seems that Chiffon has been arrested by the Navy. With Bege and Vito swarmed by the Kiss-Kiss Germ infectees, it's up to Gotti to save the don's wife. He succeeds, but it turns out that the woman he saved isn't Chiffon, but Lola! The sisters reunite, and the rest of the Rolling Pirates thank Gotti for saving their captain. Lola even wants to marry Gotti in return!

Meanwhile, the Tonta Corps. find a strange ship adrift near the island. On it is none other than Pound from whole Cake Island. After being brought to the island, he finds the pirates and introduces himself to the sisters as their father. Weirded out by this strange old guy and needing to escape the Navy, the Firetank and Rolling Pirates flee Dressrosa.

Not giving up on his daughters, Pound swims after their ship to show them a picture of the girls as babies as proof of his claims. Remembering Big Mom telling them how clingy and persistent their father is, Chiffon and Lola accept his claims and bring Pound aboard their ship. Pound hugs his daughters for the first time in 26 years. Amid the Navy's cannonfire, Lola and Gotti get married.

Tropes

  • Beta Couple: Gotti and Lola get married, becoming this to Bege and Chiffon.
  • Big Damn Heroes:
    • Subverted: when Gotti sees that the Marines have captured Chiffon and are leaving for the port, he valiantly runs to her rescue... and is beaten to a pulp.
    • Played straight the second time: he attacks the port and successfully rescues her from captivity. Though he finds out soon after that the woman he rescued isn't actually Chiffon, but Lola.
  • The Bus Came Back: Kyuin, the boss of the SMILE Factory, returns, as it turns out she wasn't arrested like the other Donquixote Pirates.
  • Cassandra Truth: After Pound tells Chiffon and Lola that he's their father, they initially think he's crazy, and they, along with the rest of the Firetank Pirates, leave Dressrosa without him. Luckily, after he swims after them and provides proof, they finally believe him and bring him onto the ship.
  • Contrived Coincidence: A double whammy: the Firetank Pirates make a stop on a random island that happens to be Dressrosa, and they almost immediately bump into someone who just saw Lola. And then who should show up later but their father, Pound.
  • Decapitated Army: Averted. Bege and Vito easily inflict a Curb-Stomp Battle on the Germ Pirates, but defeating them doesn't stop the infected people, and soon enough the two are overwhelmed by intoxicated citizens trying to smooch them.
  • Determinator:
    • After failing to rescue "Chiffon" the first time and getting beaten down by the Marines for his trouble, Gotti doesn't quit trying, and runs across the whole island to the port where they've taken her to try again.
    • Pound likewise doesn't give up either. After the Firetank Pirates try to abandon him, he swims out to their boat as it's being bombarded by a Marines cannon fire. When he shows proof that he's Lola's and Chiffon's father with the locket of him getting booted out of the kingdom after Big Mom gave birth to them, they realize he really is their dad, because Big Mom always told them that their father was a man who kept coming back no matter how many times she kicked him out.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: Prince Grus and Kujaku, two characters who wouldn't be properly introduced until the Egghead Arc, appear here as part of the Marine forces.
  • Forceful Kiss: The Germs Pirates have infected the population of Dressrosa with the Kiss Kiss Germ, which causes the infectees to grab and kiss the closest person they find, regardless of gender.
  • Identical Twin Mistake: By both the Marines and Gotti. The Marines see Chiffon in a hair salon and arrest her due to her connection to Bege. Gotti soon sees her being carried away and repeatedly attempts to rescue her, eventually succeeding. But then it's revealed that it isn't Chiffon who was arrested and saved, but Lola. Notably, the primary difference in appearance between the two sisters is how they wear their hair; since Lola was midway through getting a haircut and isn't wearing it in the usual way, the two are indistinguishable.
  • Luke, I Am Your Father: Pound to Chiffon and Lola, giving them both Enel-face expressions of shock. They don't believe him at first, but he soon manages to persuade them.
  • No Ontological Inertia: Averted. Defeating the Germ pirates does not stop the disease they were spreading.
  • Plaguemaster: On Dressrosa, the Germ Pirates arrive and proceed to spread chaos by infecting people with their artificial "Kiss Kiss Germ" (which causes the infectees to become intoxicated and try to kiss everyone they meet.)
  • Not Quite Dead: Pound, who pulled a Heroic Sacrifice back in Whole Cake Island Arc and seemingly got his head chopped off by Oven, is somehow perfectly fine. It takes a bit of time for him to convince Chiffon and Lola that he's their dad, but they believe him after showing picture of them when the two were babies.
  • Rescue Romance: After Gotti saves Lola from the Marines (under the belief that it's Chiffon he's rescuing), she falls for him and makes yet another marriage proposal. Unlike all the other men she's proposed to in the past, Gotti accepts.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Silent version; when Vito and Gotti run into Kyuin, who's apparently in a drunken stupor and knocking people unconscious with the recoil of her vacuum-kisses, they just turn around and walk away, pretending they haven't seen a thing.
  • Something Only They Would Say: Pound is able to show proof that he's the twins' father by showing them a locket of him getting kicked out of a room by Big Mom. This manages to convince the girls as they had heard how insistent he was to see them regardless of Big Mom's efforts.
  • Tears of Joy: Pound cries a river when he finally hugs his daughters after 22 years. His joy is so extreme and earnest it is what convinces his son in-in-law Bege that he really is the girls' father.
  • Throw the Dog a Bone:
    • After being rejected by thousands of men in her efforts to find true love, "Marriage Proposal" Lola finally finds a man who accepts her feelings, Gotti, and marries him.
    • After years of being forcibly separated from his daughters, nearly dying to save one, Pound finally is able to convince the twins that he's their father, and gets accepted into their family. He even gets to attend his second daughter's wedding and his grandson Pez already likes him.
