After seeing a young billionaire ask for a specific railway car, Cruella tries to get rich quick by stealing the one on the Dearly's farm. However, the pups and the Colonel attempt to prevent Cruella from getting her hands on it, causing them to embark on a wild mountain chase.

This episode includes examples of:

  • Angrish: Cruella grumbles angrily and incoherently when Horace and Jasper accidentally make the train stop.
  • Angry Item Tapping: When Cruella arrives at the station on top of the stolen train car, Roger and Anita are waiting for her with Roger tapping his foot angrily.
  • Ask a Stupid Question...:
    Cruella: Steal it!
    Horace: But isn’t that stealing?
Cruella: Nothing gets past you, does it?
  • Boring, but Practical: Lucky is unsatisfied with Colonel’s desire to plan things out and think things through instead of just leaping immediately into action. By the end of the episode however, he learns the importance of thinking ahead.
  • Butt Biter: Cadpig chomps down on Horace’s backside in order to make him fall and pull the train’s brakes.
  • Cheshire Cat Grin: Cadpig does this right before she bites Horace on the butt.
  • Coincidental Broadcast: Horace and Jasper happen to be watching an episode of “The Lifestyles of the Rich and Fatuitous” about a billionaire who’s willing to pay a huge sum of money for the exact railway car that’s on the Dearlys’ farm right when Cruella needs a new source of income.
  • Crash in Through the Ceiling: After getting carried off by a deflating burlap sack filled with smoke, Horace crashes in through the ceiling of Cruella’s private train car - much to her annoyance.
  • Distress Call: Pongo and Perdita learn of the railway car being stolen and are able to alert Roger and Anita when the puppies send out the word via the barking chain.
  • Don't Try This at Home: As the puppies and Colonel balance on top of the train to block its smokestack, Colonel looks at the camera and makes an Aside Comment that “Of course, one should never do this sort of thing at home.”
  • Exact Words: Cruella orders Horace and Jasper not to stop the train for anything, so when she tells them later to put the brakes on they’re reluctant to do so.
Horace: Sorry, we’re under orders not to stop this train for anything!
  • Handy Feet: Horace is able to eat popcorn with his feet and happily shows off this skill to Jasper.
  • High-Speed Train Reroute: Rolly’s role in the escape mission is to change the direction of the tracks when Cruella chases after the train car when it’s been detached from the engine.
  • Implausible Deniability: Roger and Anita angrily question what Cruella is doing with their railway car and she tries to deny being involved…as she’s standing on top of it.
  • Major Injury Underreaction: After their train crashes, Horace and Jasper walk out of the wreckage seemingly fine until Jasper points out all the bones they’ve broken and then they pass out in pain.
  • Outside Ride: Desperate to regain control over the detached railway car, Cruella jumps onto it from her engine and rides on top of it back to the station.
  • Pun-Based Title: A play on the phrase “no pain, no gain”.
  • Rail-Car Separation: The pups, Spot, and Colonel separate the Dearlys’ railway car from Cruella’s engine before she can sell it to the billionaire.
  • Shout-Out: The billionaire named Billy Fences, who made his fortune in computers, is likely a reference to real life billionaire Bill Gates.
  • Split-Screen Phone Call: Cruella has one with a very angry Billy Fences who wants to know where his train car is.
  • Steam Never Dies: This episode focuses on Cruella stealing the railway car that resides at the Dearlys’ farm in order to sell it to a billionaire that’s obsessed with steam locomotives.
  • Through the Ceiling, Stealthily: Lucky uses this method to sneak into Cruella’s private train car to gather intel.
  • We Need a Distraction: Colonel tells Spot that they need a diversion to keep Cruella’s attention off of them, and she’s all too happy to oblige.
Spot: Finally, a place for my lounge act! And me without my backup band! Oh well!
  • Worthless Treasure Twist: At the end of the episode, Billy Fences reveals that the Dearlys’ train car is actually worthless to him because he was looking for the 1912 model and theirs is the 1915 model.
