Recap / OKKO Lets Be Heroes S 2 E 22 All In The Villainy

Go To

Continuing where "Boxman Crashes" left off, Fink and Boxman's robots (particularly Darrell) aren't getting along, which is ruining their plans to defeat KO, Enid, and Rad and take over their side of the plaza.

Tropes:

  • Actor Allusion: Faced with an emergency meeting, Boxman says "Oh, bother", the Catchphrase of Winnie the Pooh, also voiced by Jim Cummings.
  • All Anime Is Naughty Tentacles: Rad's and Enid's disgusted reactions to seeing Darrell's new arms.
  • Big "SHUT UP!": When Darrell's and Fink's fighting causes them to fall through the ceiling and they both start whining to their "parents" at once, Boxman finally gets fed up and yells "SILENCE!!!" with a Demon Head, immediately shutting them both up.
  • Blunt "Yes": When Venomous states that "some of us" have been having more difficulty adjusting to the merge between him and Boxman, Shannon bluntly asks if he means Darrell and Fink. Despite Venomous's attempt to be tactful, Boxman replies with an irritated "Yes."
  • Cover Innocent Eyes and Ears: Enid and Rad cover K.O.'s eyes to keep him from seeing Darrell's tentacle arms.
  • Does This Remind You of Anything?:
    • Boxman, Venomous, and their respective minions trying to adjust to the merging of Boxmore being under both of their control is treated very much like a newly-married couple trying to get their respective children and stepchildren to get along with each other. Hammered in by Darrell referring to both of them as "our daddies", and Boxman briefly wondering if they "rushed into" the merge too quickly before seeing that Fink and Darrell are now getting along better. The writers later confirmed that Boxman and Venomous are indeed in a relationship at this point, making the parallel even clearer.
    • At one point, when the two of them are discussing whether or not they made a mistake by forcing Fink and Darrell to share rooms, they're actually sitting upright in chairs, but their body positions as they turn to face each other to talk about it heavily resembles pillow talk.
  • Fire-Forged Friends: Darrell and Fink end up bonding over fighting the Bodega team together.
  • Flat "What": Boxman's reaction when Venomous decides that their "punishment" for Darrell and Fink should be...getting them presents.
  • My Favorite Shirt: In retaliation for Darrell breaking her second-favorite toy (an old doll made of junk named Sylvia), Fink blasts Darrell's cowboy hat, setting it ablaze. Darrell escalates by blowing up Fink's computer, her first-favorite toy.
  • Ocular Gushers: Fink and Darrell get these when Venomous and Boxman are deciding how to "punish" them. Then the latter two get them (a happy version) at the end when Darrell and Fink are getting along.
  • Pass the Popcorn: Shannon and Raymond when Fink and Darrell start physically fighting again after being forced to share a bedroom, complete with Shannon recording the whole thing. At least, until it gets so out of hand that even they're horrified.
  • Puppy-Dog Eyes: Fink shoots these to Venomous when he and Boxman are trying to decide how to "punish" her and Darrell. Predictably, he immediately caves and suggests getting them presents.
  • Sitcom Homage Episode: The episode's plot and tone are deliberately sitcom-like. The title references All in the Family and the intro parodies The Brady Bunch.
  • Talking in Bed: Parodied; when Boxman and Venomous discuss their decision to force Darrell and Fink to share a bedroom, the two scientists are sitting upright in chairs, but they move and the camera is positioned in such a way that they look like they're in bed together.
  • This Is Gonna Suck: Upon hearing Darrell and Fink’s reaction to Boxman and Venomous forcing them to share a bedroom, K.O. forlornly notes that things are gonna get worse before they get better.
  • This Is My Side: Darrell divides their bedroom in two after Fink gets on his bad side. Fink just ignores the line.
