The son of a millionaire is kidnapped and the team must find him without Don, who is in therapy with Doctor Bradford (Wendell Pierce).

Tropes for the episode include:

  • The One Who Made It Out: Che Lobo wanted his son to be this, deliberately keeping him away from anything related to gangs or crime so that he'd have a chance to be "something better".
  • Real Time: Close to it, at least. While it doesn't literally take place over the course of an hour (the "One Hour" referenced in the title is the amount of time they're given to collect the ransom, which excludes the opening scene as well as the kidnapper's "maze" that he leads Colby through), it's probably no more than two hours at most — enough time that Don misses the entire thing due to being at his therapy session with his phone off.
  • Screw the Money, I Have Rules!: Lobo teases Colby for not taking an opportunity to help himself to some cash during his time in Afghanistan.
  • Wham Line: Near the end of the episode, when Don's therapist finally goads him into revealing the extent of his trust issues. It's seemingly as much of a Wham to Don himself as anyone, as his reaction suggests that he hadn't even been aware that those kinds of thoughts were lurking in his subconscious.
Don: Look, I'm their boss! I don't have to trust them; it's their job to trust me!
