This episode provides examples of:
- The Cameo: Chen and Clouse make an appearance while Lloyd's going through the Cursed Realm.
- Deader than Dead: The Preeminent is defeated, taking all those within its realm with it, including Garmadon.
- Fighting Across Time and Space: Lloyd and Morro's battle for the Realm Crystal takes them through various realms seen in previous episodes, as well as the realm of Chima.
- Necessary Fail: Lloyd reveals he let Morro escape their fight, rather than following him back, knowing it would work out in the end.
- One-Winged Angel: The Preeminent has its ghosts cover it in the buildings of Stiix, allowing it to follow the ninja into the water without much fear of hurting itself.
- Recycled Animation: During the segment when Lloyd and Morro take their battle to Chima, the segment uses altered footage from the episode Ravens Vs Eagles, removing Eris and Razar from the scene and swapping them out for the Ninjago characters. Even Laval's line from the episode itself is reused, albeit fittingly context-wise since both duos ended up falling out of the sky in their fight.
- Take My Hand!: Wu tries to save Morro as the Preeminent drags him into the water, but Morro declines.
- Taking You with Me: As she goes, the Preeminent grabs Morro with a tentacle to drag him into the water, effectively killing him all over again. Morro hadn't even betrayed her, so she's just being extra petty.
