The Ninja travel to the tomb of the First Spinjitzu Master, which escalates into a race against time to get the Realm Crystal first before Morro does.
This episode provides examples of:
- Foreshadowing: Two instances of this when the Ninja enter the ice maze that shows their futures when they look into its walls.
- Jay's vision of the future shows him wearing an eyepatch, as well as him being a couple with Nya.
- The fact Cole doesn't see his own reflection or future.
- Only Smart People May Pass: Passing the first riddle in the tomb requires someone to know what a zoetrope is. Fortunately, Zane does, and as a nindroid can quickly work out what it's showing.
- People Puppets: Misako is temporarily possessed by Bansha, but Nya manages to hit her with some water and undo it.
- Repower: In order to threat Lloyd's life, Morro has to exit his body, and does so long enough to allow the ninja's powers to start kicking back in.
- Sarcasm Mode: When Kai tells Jay to be less Jay about their situation, he lets lose with the sarcasm.
- Slippy-Slidey Ice World: The labyrinth inside the Spinjitzu Master's tomb is made of ice, which gives the ninja and Morro some problems when they try fighting on it.
- We Wait: Wu's declaration when the Ocean's Bounty catches up to the tomb, to find some of the ghosts already there but unwilling to attack.
- You Can't Thwart Stage One: Morro successfully grabs the Realm Crystal and sets off to free the Preeminent.
