Upon discovering Garmadon in Vinny Folson's apartment, Lloyd and Wu listen to his story of self-improvement.
- Companion Cube: The titular plant Christofern takes this role for Garmadon, given to him by Vinny as a living thing that he can care for and watch grow.
- Reformed, but Not Tamed: Garmadon is no longer seeking to do evil and is trying to be good, though he still struggles with some basic decency, both before and after becoming roommates with Vinny.
- The Reveal: Garmadon has been living with Vinny for the past few seasons.
- There Is No Kill Like Overkill: When some Crystal Warriors destroy the apartment and damage Christofern, Garmadon changes into his Oni form in retaliation. Garmadon's Oni form actually manages to destroy the Vengestone Warriors, proving that they aren't immune to the Oni's power.
- Unreliable Voiceover: When Garmadon explains how he went to Vinny's apartment, he tells Lloyd and Wu that Vinny welcomed him with open arms, but the flashback shows that Vinny initially refused to let him in out of fear and attempted to call the police before Garmadon explained his reasons for coming to his apartment.
