With the Ocean Bounty ready to go, the ninja set off to explore the Tartarus Trench, only to find they've got a stowaway on board.
Tropes:
- Behind the Black: Maya manages to do a small pile's worth of dishes without Jay or Nya noticing when she's doing so right across the room from them. She is a former ninja, after all.
- Ceiling Cling: Maya tries evading the ninja this way, but Nya's able to figure out it's where she is.
- Comically Missing the Point: Faced with evidence someone's snuck aboard the ship and is doing everyone's chores for them, Jay comes to the conclusion that - unlike Nya's suspicion that it's just a stowaway - they're being haunted by the ghost of a butler.
- Continuity Nod:
- Ray stays behind to play Prime Empire with Kai and Cole.
- P.I.X.A.L. realizes Zane's pulled a repeat of what he did back in "Ninjago Confidential", for the exact same reason.
- It's Probably Nothing: Just as the ship gets underway, P.I.X.A.L. reads movement in the ship's corridors even though everyone who should be aboard is on the bridge with her. She figures it's not worth being concerned about. It turns out to be Maya.
- My Beloved Smother: Maya continues to act like this toward Nya, insisting she's in no condition to go exploring and treating her like a sickly child, even though Nya tries pointing out she's been adventuring for years now. Her mother-hening tendencies extend to everyone else, making everyone's beds and doing their laundry even though the ship's only been underway for barely more than a few hours at most. Of course, Lloyd and Jay don't mind.
- Talk Like a Pirate: Zane, on account of having studied every movie about ocean-going vessels for the voyage, though not enough to make him a Ninja Pirate Zombie Robot.
- Tempting Fate: On introducing the Ocean Bounty, P.I.X.A.L. declares it unsinkable. Cole tries pointing out this is begging for something to come along and sink it, but everyone else shushes him. Cole proves right at the end.
