- Continuity Nod: While Kai teaches Wyldfyre forms to calm her down, he mentions Master Wu taught them to him in the wake of Nya merging with the sea.
- Dramatic Irony: It's revealed that Jay has been working with the Administration, but neither he nor the Ninja are aware of each other's presence with the episode ending with neither side seeing each other.
- Playing Games at Work: Agent Walker, when called by his subordinates, is still holding the console controller.
- The Reveal: Jay has ended up in the Administration, having become a manager.
- The Un-Reveal: Has Jay been working at the Administration since the Merge? Why hasn't he gone to seek out the other Ninja? And why is he working there in the first place? It's not until the eighth episode of the second season that we learn the truth about all of this.
- Vast Bureaucracy: The Administration is big, to put it lightly, and requires paperwork for everything. One line is so long that a family has passed down their place for generations, even after they've forgotten what they line is for. Fittingly, it was once a part of the Realm of Madness before the Merge.
