Go To

The episode sees Athena and the 118 dealing with people who have reached their Rage Breaking Point and snapped when their Berserk Button was pressed.

At LAX, a couple of tarmac crewmen are happy to know that some COVID restrictions have finally been lifted, until they are forced to warn the lead flight attendant on a nearby flight that it is delayed another 30 minutes. She does her best to stay calm in the face of the disgruntled passengers, but her patience only has so far to go before she finally snaps when one young passenger sneezes on her and causes her to fall over, at which point, having reached her literal breaking point, she tells off the passengers for their behavior, orders them back into their seats, scaring them back into compliance, and then makes a makeshift weapon from a champagne bottle as she activates the emergency inflatable slide and leaves the plane. As one of the tarmac crewmen tries to stop her, she attacks him and impales the cork in his throat.

By the time LAX fire crews, LAPD, LAX police, and the 118 arrive, they recognize the guy as the one from when they saved him from the jet turbine, while the flight attendant got some karma of her own with a dislocated leg. After they remove the barbed wire on the cork and then extract it from his throat, both he and the flight attendant are taken to be MEDEVAC'ed, but both of them declare they are done with the air industry as they both announce they quit.

Eddie is talking with Christopher's teacher later regarding some of the studies he's struggling in, causing them to start to fall in love, but are interrupted when Eddie needs to go home to tuck Christopher in. Eddie arrives to find Buck had everything under control until he got home. Buck comes home to find Chimney's brother with a friend, Veronica, much to their embarrassment. Maddie and Chimney talk with Maddie's maternity doctor via webcam as she lets them know of the circumstances regarding their situation with the COVID precautions and how they need to plan for that. After they end the call, Maddie refuses to have her baby anywhere without Chimney there to be with her when it happens, and declares she wants to have it right there at home, and no where else.

LAPD are called to a scene where an armed gunman stands on a roof and refuses to come down, despite best attempts by negotiators to convince him to surrender. However, the owner of the house the gunman is standing on is growing impatient. After several hours, just when it looks like LAPD are finally going to have a peaceful resolution, the owner takes matters into his own hands, as he is fed up with waiting, and shoves the gunman off his roof personally, ending the standoff on his own terms, having lost all patience at that point, and the gunman lands on his car, damaging it, and forcing the 118 to move in to treat the gunman, while the owner orders everyone else to get lost as well, leaving the LAPD negotiator defeated at his efforts being All for Nothing.

Later, Maddie takes a 911 call, but as she does, Athena and May show up and overhear it, watching as Maddie gets so fed up with the call that she angrily hangs up, but calms down upon realizing that Athena and May heard everything, and retreats to the break room, only for Athena to speak with her later, and learn that Maddie was reaching her own breaking point due to all the frustrating calls she was getting today while concerned about her pregnancy, trying to retake some control of her future as she does. Seeing that, Athena gives her a pep talk to try and help her understand that she has to endure, for the sake of her unborn baby, even with how the world is right now because of COVID.

At Hen and Karen's house, Karen injures herself, and Hen takes care of it immediately, though they find that all their first aid supplies were being used by their daughter as she practices playing doctor with her stuffed animals, so they have her tend to Karen.

Back at 911 Dispatch, Maddie takes another call regarding a security alarm, and sends Athena to investigate. When the alarm goes off again, Athena decides to investigate what triggered it, and when she figures out what's going on, she calls the 118, and arrests the wife for trying to kill her husband when his actions finally pushed her to her breaking point. Athena scornfully tells the wife that while they all have a breaking point, hers just earned her a one-way trip to prison, before ordering her patrol officers to get her out of Athena's disgusted sight.

At Eddie's house, Christopher has reached his breaking point with Eddie, and storms off to his room, angered with his father's broken promises.

Buck, Chimney's brother, Veronica, and the news reporter Eddie met up with again at the earlier standoff, Taylor Kelly, are having a dinner date together, but it is clear that Taylor did not want to hang out with them and storms out, voicing her contempt to Buck out in the hallway before leaving. Eddie speaks with his girlfriend about Christopher, but later finds Christopher not in his room, causing him to panic, until Buck calls to assure him Christopher is with him. Buck tries to talk to Christopher about his outburst at Eddie, and Chris explains that he's angry with his dad over dating again and forgetting about Shannon. Buck assures him that he will see all his relatives again, and this helps calm Chris down and consider apologizing to Eddie for losing his temper at him.

Chimney wakes up to find Maddie preparing everything for giving birth at home, and he finally snaps, explaining that he can't tolerate the risks of if she goes through with that as the time it would take to get to the hospital would be too risky. Seeing him so concerned for her well-being, she agrees to put the decision on hold and give birth whenever and wherever it happens.

Taylor then calls Buck with a serious emergency: The hospital freezer has been compromised, and the COVID vaccines are in danger of being tainted. Luckily, Athena and other first responders have arrived to assist with delivering the vaccines to where they are needed the most before they are wasted, helping to save numerous lives from the virus by getting them vaccinated, including Athena's ex-husband. Taylor thanks Buck for his help as she needed a miracle, and he gave her one, giving him a kiss in thanks.

Back at Eddie's house, Chris is willing to give Eddie's new girlfriend a shot, while Chimney and Maddie prepare for their new daughter, and Buck learns that Chimney's brother broke up with Veronica. Hen arrives home to find Deedra waiting with Karen, and with some bad news: It is time for Mia to be return to Child Services...
