Marjan considers dating again, while Carlos and TK realize that they missed one important conversation about having a family…

Tropes:

  • Asshole Victim: The Geralds, who use the GoFundMe money they earned to purchase a luxury car and, while joyriding, end up both in a near-collision with a dumpster and under a dung pile.
  • Continuity Nod:
    • When TK disproves Carlos’ point about them not having pets by bringing up Lou (I), Carlos responds by citing how the lizard escaped from its fish tank in “Down to Clown”.
    • An exasperated Paul tells Marjan that she should’ve cut ties with Salim for real on social media a long time ago after “Friends with Benefits”.
  • Curse Cut Short: The call sent about the the manure pile has the caller saying "they're trapped in-" before cutting to commercial.
  • Dark Horse Victory: After none of Marjan’s chaperoned dates work out, she runs into her physical therapist Joe while at the market with Paul. Turns out he’s also a practicing Muslim, and he’s shared flirty banter with her during her sessions. When she and Paul invite him to the latter’s dinner date, Joe is initially surprised, but gladly agrees.
  • Defensive "What?": Carlos is a bit put out at Andrea’s skepticism for his “wanting to travel the world”, but doesn’t push further after she brings up his two bad experiences with travel.
  • Disappointed in You: Owen loudly announces this to Fauza/Yasir after learning about his adultery.
  • Heartbreak and Ice Cream: Disappointment and fried chicken, in Owen’s case. He later shares some with TK as they discuss respecting the latter and Carlos’ decisions on having children.
  • Here We Go Again!: Carlos when he realizes the bearded dragon escaped the box it was in. This time, though, he’s more fondly exasperated than freaked out.
  • Imperiled in Pregnancy: Farrah, a pregnant and enraged wife, accidentally traps herself under the debris of a motel’s veranda when driving a bulldozer through it to get to her husband.
  • I Need to Go Iron My Dog: The 126 crew deliberate on a safe word to use in case any of Marjan’s date conversations start getting uncomfortable. Owen suggests “rutabaga”, but the team ultimately decides on “popcorn.”
  • Laser-Guided Karma: The 126 goes to rescue a couple who got trapped in manure while on the road. To their complete amusement, it's Mitch and Lila Geralds, the couple who tried to file a lawsuit against Marjan. Not only do the 126 take their sweet time rescuing them, Marjan forces them to thank her on social media, where she also reveals that the two spent some of the money they asked for a new house on the sports car now trapped in cow manure.
  • Noodle Incident:
    • Owen and Gwyn ended up not talking about what faith they wanted TK to follow before he was born. Cut to the day of birth where Gwyn was planning TK’s bris, and the result, in Owen’s words, was “a very animated conversation.”
    • Andrea calls bullshit on Carlos’ “travel the world” reason to not want kids, citing how they left Texas twice in his childhood and he got intensely homesick both times.
  • Not Wanting Kids Is Weird: Defied, and ultimately averted; in fact, the only reason TK even finds it weird in the beginning that Carlos doesn’t want to have children is because of how he never mentioned it earlier despite his good experiences with them. Later, the two agree to hold off on the issue, and Carlos decides on a compromise by getting TK a bearded dragon.
  • Oh, Crap!: Barely four seconds after TK and Carlos take their eyes off the bearded dragon, TK looks back to find that it escaped its box. Again.
  • Overly-Nervous Flop Sweat: The date with Omar makes Marjan sweat profusely.
  • Reaction Shot: Pay attention to Fauza/ Yasir’s scenes when Farrah loudly chews him out, and a Black woman is seen watching everything and looking at him with a facial expression that clearly says “Oooh, sounds like you’re in deep shit.”
  • Self-Serving Memory: When telling TK that they wouldn’t yet be ready to commit to raising children, Carlos claims that they haven’t owned a pet. TK cites their “first” one, Lou (I) to disprove this point.
  • Terrible Interviewees Montage: Two downplayed interviews occur in the episode— the interviewees aren’t exactly terrible, but they do have a few dealbreakers.
    • At the start of the episode, TK and Carlos meet with four potential officiants for their wedding. Finkel, a Jewish pastor, is supportive of their union on the condition that Carlos apply to his church and convert faiths; Amethyst, a spiritual priestess, is a little too kooky (and Carlos thinks she misread their color auras); Tom, a Christian pastor, ends up making a few too many cynical comments; and Nicole, a Side A pastor, also supports their union but advises them to get the difficult conversations out of the way— which makes the two of them find that they didn’t discuss all of them.
    • Marjan has a series of dates with four Muslim men while the 126 act as her chaperones. Hassan (chaperoned by Mateo and Nancy), an eager entrepreneur, uses the date to promote his upcoming business and puff himself up; Omar (chaperoned by Paul) accidentally freaks out Marjan and Paul with his children preferences and comments about her appearance; Zain (chaperoned by TK and Carlos) is… bummed that Marjan doesn’t share his interest in Harry Potter; and Fauza (chaperoned by Owen), an accountant/ dog rescuer, comes the closest to her dating preference and earns Owen’s liking, but ultimately doesn’t work out because of his situation with Farrah.
  • Woman Scorned: And a heavily pregnant wife at that. Interestingly, but thankfully, she doesn’t hold anything against Marjan after learning that Fauza/ Yasir cheated on her, too.
  • Visual Pun: The jokes write themselves with the Geralds getting trapped under a pile of manure.
