Recap / Nikita S 1 E 6 Resistance

Go To

While moving to a training exercise, the Division recruits are attacked and Alex and Thom are kidnapped. However, it soon turns out that this is not a real kidnapping, but a test run by Division on it's recruits. They however believe it to be real.

Michael, Amanda and Percy watch as Alex is tortured with the purpose of learning if and when she'll give up Division. Alex however breaks free and escapes. After calling Nikita in a panic, Nikita tells her that this is most likely a test, but Nikita arrives to take her to safety anyway. However, Michael arrives first and brings her back to Division.

Meanwhile, Nikita helps a recovering Owen and tries to get him to join her crusade against Division. However, he reveals that he was the "cleaner" who killed Nikita's fiance Daniel, and insists that he can fight Division on his own.

Tropes

  • Anti-Hero: Michael makes it clear he's this trope again by trying to call an end to Alex torture and clearly caring about her safety.
  • Disney Death: For some reason Percy and Division believe that Nikita and Owen died from their jump of a freighter into dark water last episode despite there being no bodies.
  • The Lost Lenore: Nikita attempts to bond with Owen over their respective dead lovers Daniel and Emily. However, this causes Owen to realize that he was the one who killed Daniel.
  • Manipulative Bastard: All of Division, but especially Amanda and Percy, who set up the whole kidnapping and torture as essentially both a training exercise and a loyalty test in one. Michael is at least seen objecting.
  • Replacement Goldfish: It's implied that Amanda, Percy, and even Birkhoff think that Michael is unconciously seeing Alex as one for Nikita, who he used to be close to when she was still in Division.
