Nancy finally has Everett exactly where she wants him. Meanwhile, Nick receives upsetting news from one of his tenants, Jake Cazine (guest star Ben Hollingsworth), about the youth center he wants to open. Lastly, Carson shares something disturbing with Bess.

- Bait-and-Switch: At first we're led to believe that some curse is influencing Nancy to go dark. Instead she's still Nancy, just with a killer parasite, at best able to influence her in subtle ways.
- Blatant Lies: Nick is about to explain what the taillight Tamura found might have come from.Nick: Oh yeah, that is def... ... ... ... that is definitely a very common taillight.
- Cutting the Knot: "Hey, Ryan, put Nancy on." "Hey, Nancy, put Everett on." In about the space of two minutes.
- Even Bad Men Love Their Mamas: Ryan loses it on Everett when he walks into the Sable home, screaming "You killed her!" over and over as he beats him unconscious.
- Evil Cannot Comprehend Good: Everett assumes Nancy must have preyed on Celia's mourning to "wheedle her way to the fortune." The idea Nancy couldn't care less about the inheritance never enters his mind.
- I Have This Friend: George to Hannah about her situation with Odette.
- Not Me This Time: Everett didn't kill Celia. The Road Back did as punishment for interfering with their list.
- Race Against the Clock: The episode ends by setting up the next arc; save Nancy from the Wraith.
- Rapid-Fire "No!": Carson and George fire some off when they learn Nancy 1) has a parasitic demon attached to her, 2) she only has a few days to live, and 3) there's no cure.
- Right for the Wrong Reasons: Nancy about Celia being killed.
- You Are a Credit to Your Race: Nick's client doesn't want the youth center built in his building because he's racist as fuck.
