McGee is getting ready for his wedding to Delilah in the summer, but some very big stuff is about to turn his and Delilah's world upside down.
Tropes:
- Altar the Speed: After learning that they're expecting, Tim and Delilah get married in their apartment with the team as witnesses at the end of the episode.
- Artistic License – Medicine: Tim being present when the nurse informs Delilah she's pregnant wouldn't happen in Real Life unless Delilah specifically said it was okay for him to stay. Patient confidentiality is of the utmost importance. One never knows what someone wouldn't want even a loved one to know.
- Breaking Bad News Gently: A twofer good news variant from a nurse coming in to give Delilah her medical results, leading to The Reveal. When the gentleness of the news only confuses Tim and Delilah further, she has to be more direct about it.
- Fainting: In Delilah's case, it's the Exhaustion variant, since she's juggling her DOD job and the brunt of the wedding plans (89% of it, according to her wedding planning app). While she recovers at the hospital, she and Tim find it's also the Pregnancy variant.
- Faint in Shock: McGee faints when the nurse tells his fiance Delilah that she is pregnant.
- Implausible Deniability: The suspect of the week undergoes this by the end, claiming (with genuine regret) that the poisoned food for his CO was just a prank, and that the caffeine-abstinent victim's death was accidental.
- The Reveal: Delilah and McGee are going to have their first child in a few months.
