As Gibbs struggles to cope with the effects of his coma which has left him with amnesia, Tony and the rest of the NCIS team attempt to find a terrorist and also attempt to stop a potentially devastating terrorist attack from going ahead.
- Bittersweet Ending: Gibbs retires from NCIS after failing to stop the bomb on the boat. Well at least he has regained his memory, and Ziva finally shows some emotion.
- Call-Back: Ziva mentions killing Ari and the death of Kate to Gibbs.
- Dope Slap: Invoked by Ziva to help Gibbs regain his memories.
- He Will Not Cry, so I Cry for Him: Ziva breaks down in tears for Gibbs whilst trying help him regain his memories, while Gibbs just comforts her, but Gibbs just realised that Ziva saved his life by killing Ari.
- Stress Vomit: Gibbs, when Franks reminds him of 9/11.
