"Unrivaled" is the 25th and final episode of My Hero Academia's third season, and the 63rd episode overall.

With Midoriya now off house arrest, Aizawa brings in U.A.'s so-called Big Three — the top seniors of the Hero course — to talk about their internships to Class 1-A. When Tamaki Amajiki is too shy and Nejire Hado is too distracted by the class to explain properly, the third — Mirio Togata, the student Midoriya had encountered the previous day and potential successor to the position of #1 Hero — offers to challenge the entire class. Despite the freshmen's confidence, Mirio quickly wipes the floor with them using a Quirk that allows him to phase through things. He later explained that it isn't precisely a powerful Quirk since it's extremely difficult to use, but he was able to make the most out of it through training and experience. He compares this to what the students will go to should they decide to take up internships.

Meanwhile, a young sidekick informs her boss, a bespectacled man, that the Shie Hassaikai has been in contact with the League of Villains...

Tropes:

  • Always Someone Better: Granted, Mirio Togata of the "Big Three" is a senior student, and has the experience and POWER to boot, but Aizawa points out that he has the potential of being a #1 Pro Hero before he even graduates. As demonstrated, despite their life-or-death adventures, Class 1-A is completely beaten by Togata.
    • The Big Three themselves are regarded as The Ace senior students of the entire UA High Student Body.
  • Attention Deficit... Ooh, Shiny!: Nejire can't explain the internships because she can't last five seconds on topic before going off to question Class 1-A about minor things.
  • Big Word Shout: POOOOWEEEEEERRRRRRR!!!
  • Cliffhanger: The season ends setting up Sequel Hooks all around about the Internship Arc.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Mirio decisively defeats Class 1-A (minus Bakugo who is still under house arrest, and Todoroki who chooses not to participate) in seconds.
  • Difficult, but Awesome: Mirio explains to Class 1-A that his Quirk by itself isn't very strong, and in fact when he first started using it, he ended up falling behind in class because of a lot of different minor steps he needed to take for his Quirk to be effective. However after learning to think tactically, and turning the experience he gained from his Work Studies into power, Mirio was able to take his difficult power and rise to the top of U.A. hence why he encourages the first years to go for the Work Studies no matter how difficult they might be.
  • Foreshadowing: Mirio explains that the Work Studies program is much different than the Internships in Season 2. In the case of those who receive their Hero Licenses, they get to take on actual Hero work, which includes fighting villains. Mirio also points out that it's likely to be dangerous, to the point where you might get hurt, or even die. By the end of the next arc, someone on the hero's side will.
  • Full-Frontal Assault: Mirio hands Class 1-A their asses whilst entirely nude since his quirk doesn't include clothing.
  • Imagine the Audience Naked: The extremely shy Tamaki tries to imagine 1-A as potatoes before he is supposed to speak in front of them, but winds up seeing them all as humans with potatoes for heads.
  • Naked People Are Funny: Mirio's Quirk allows him to phase through literally anything, including his clothing, so he fights the class in the nude. Whether he wants to or not. Played entirely for laughs.
  • Refusal of the Call: Todoroki stays out of the mock battle between his classmates and Togata, mainly because he failed the License Exam and didn't feel qualified to take part.
  • Video Game Physics: Mirio's Quirk is compared to glitching through walls in a video game.
  • The Worf Effect: Despite facing life-or-death situations against the League of Villains throughout the series so far, Class 1-A are easily trounced by senior student Mirio Togata.
