It's finally time for Team Midoriya and Bakugo's practical exam. What will they be able to do against All Might? Well, other than get beaten horribly. That's a given.
Tropes:
- An Aesop: When working with someone, it's often important to put pride and prejudice aside in order to succeed.
- Both Sides Have a Point: While Izuku is right in thinking that Bakugo's plan - to overpower All Might in a direct attack - is delusional to a fault, Bakugo has a point in that All Might can't be outrun either, thus they have to use their combined physical abilities and wits to manipulate All Might.
- Dramatic Spine Injury: During Deku and Bakugo's training exam fight against All Might, All Might uses his New Hampshire Smash move to hit Deku in the back, seemingly fracturing his spine and sending him smashing into a bus. Luckily All Might wasn't trying to cause any long term damage, and Recovery Girl is able to fix up Deku, even chewing out All Might for going so hard on them.
- Get A Hold Of Yourself Man: This is partially why Izuku punches Bakugo in the face, after he hears the latter tell All Might that he'd rather fail the test than try to work with Izuku to find a way to pass.
- Leeroy Jenkins: Bakugo's plan? Overpower All Might, who is established as being one of the most physically powerful men on the planet, and hope for the best. While Bakugo is not stupid enough to actually believe that this would work, his pride tells him that he would rather lose than actually work together with someone he thinks is his lesser.
- Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: Izuku and Bakugo manage to pull this off, after the former yells at the latter about how unacceptable it is that he was willing to give up rather than fight alongside Izuku, to pass.
