- Cutting the Knot: Inspector Brackenreid, having witnessed Harry's multiple escape of police-issued bindings, takes great pleasure in the man's inability to free himself of the final set in the closer of the show. Houdini rightfully suspects the Inspector had them tampered with, and Brackenreid admits to having glue put in the locking mechanism to make the attempt all the harder.
- Foregone Conclusion: Zigzagged. Harry Houdini obviously isn't the killer, despite being Brackenreid's prime suspect, but his brother and stage partner is guilty due to not actually being Houdini's brother, but rather having taken up the stage name after Houdini's actual brother retired from the act, as per real life.
- Historical Domain Character: Young Harry Houdini appears, as a part of Houdini Brothers.
- Lovely Assistant: Ruby Ogden. Her first appearance on the show, and she plays a magician's assistant to Harry Houdini.
