The Unusual Suspects is the twenty-first Moshi Monsters mission and the first mission of Season Three. It is also the first mission to have more than one part. It has three parts.
At the jungle, click on the explorer Poppet. After the conversation, open your inventory and give the Valentine's card to the Poppet. The Poppet says she is doing research and asks for help. Click on the Mini Moshiphone to help with the research (it's Gabby from the previous missions!). Apparently, she's using her new Monstagram app to take pictures of rare frogs. click on red frog. Then, click on the green frog while its mouth is open. Then, a blue frog appears who apparently has a missing twin. Find and click on the frog's twin. Click the bongo plants, then the twin will appear. Click the twins while they're together. The explorer Poppet says that the card mentions "both of my eyes are set firmly on you" so you cross off all the suspects with more or less than two eyes. None of them have less, but two of them (Roary Scrawl and Ratty) have more. The explorer Poppet also found a hair on the card and suggests taking it to a Poppet at the observatory.
- Accessory-Wearing Cartoon Animal: The Poppet who got the love note has a bow and boots.
- Action Girl: This mission features a female explorer Poppet and Gabby, who's had adventures of her own.
- Alliterative Name: Baz Barnacle.
- Amazing Technicolor Wildlife: Gail is a pink and blue striped whale.
- Animate Inanimate Object: Gabby is a talking cell phone.
- Anthropomorphic Food: One of the suspects is Suey, a creature who resembles a bowl of noodles.
- Beach Episode: Part Three takes place at the beach.
- Cartoon Creature: We don't know quite what Bubba, Shrewman, Ratty, Guiseppe, Roary Scrawl or the Keepers are.
- Character Tics: The scientist Poppet likes to move her head from side to side as does the one on the beach.
- The Confidant: Apparently, the Gatekeeper goes to the Datkeeper for advice, and in this mission, the Super Moshis
- A Dog Named "Dog": The Poppet who got the letter is named "Poppet".
- Extra Eyes: Exploited. The author can't have extra eyes as the letter mentions both eyes.
- Fully-Dressed Cartoon Animal: The explorer Poppet, the scientist Poppet, the beach Poppet, Raffles, Bubba, Guiseppe, Baz Barnacle, Roary Scrawl and YoYo all wear full sets of clothing.
- Funny Animal: YoYo is an anthropomorphic coyote and Raffles is an anthropomorphic...something.
- Genius Loci: The planet Space Glenn is sentient.
- Interspecies Romance: None of Poppet's potential love interests are Poppets.
- Love Interests: Somebody has a crush on Poppet, it turns out to be YoYo.
- Mister Strangenoun: The Gatekeeper's name is a word, the Datekeeper's name is two words and Baz's last name is Barnacle.
- The Nameless: Poppet's other Poppet friends don't have names.
- Pun: "Cow" is said to be an "a-moo-sing" app, and there's also "glumpass" (glump + compass) and "sicktionary" (a dictionary about illness).
- Red Is Heroic: The Super Moshi's cape and mask are red.
- Smart People Wear Glasses: Played with. The scientist Poppet wears glasses but there are other smart characters (such as the explorer Poppet) who don't.
- Spell My Name with a "The": The Gatekeeper and The Datekeeper.
- Superheroes Wear Capes: The Super Moshi wears its cape.
- Theme Naming: All of the Keeper family members' names rhyme with "Gatekeeper".
- Trademark Favorite Food: When Shrewman is one of the possible love interests, it's mentioned that he "likes something other than berries?".
- Valentine's Day Episode: This episode takes place around Valentine's Day.
