Kick Some Asteroid is the eighteenth Moshi Monsters mission and the eighth mission of Season Two.
It begins where the last mission left off: with you being sent away with Scarlet O'Hairia in an escape pod and Strangeglove having taken over the Rhapsody 2.
You crash-land on an asteroid and the escape pod is a mess and Scarlet is missing. Click on all the junk to get rid of it and reveal Scarlet. On the TV, Captain Squirk is trying to hail you but the TV is missing a few circuits so he can't be heard. Open your inventory (the blue pouch on the far right) and drag the pieces of technology onto the screen. Captain Squirk asks you if you're OK. You say yes and ask how to leave. He says that the inside of the asteroid is very explosive so you might be able to blast the escape pod back into space if you cause an explosion under the surface. Click on the door after it opens.
On the asteroid, a creature greets you and asks what you're doing on his asteroid. When you explain that you crash-landed, he tells you that you need to leave. Ask why and who he is. He says that he is a famous Cosmic Rox miner called Wally Warpspeed. You're confused at what Cosmic Rox are and he says, "What are you, an alien?? Yes, Cosmic Rox!". He then explains that Cosmic Rox are very rare and valuable. Ask if he's sold any. He says that he hasn't: he was ready to leave, but he took a sip of soda and it spilled, then the ship exploded and he crash-landed. Ask where the soda is now. He says it's in his spaceship but he can't find the door handle. Scroll left and find a thing that looks like a steering wheel. Now, open your inventory and drag it onto the broken spaceship's door. Now, click the door to open it. Out walks a Moshling shaped like a bottle of soda. He thanks you and says that Wally wants to get rid of him. Ask "Are you a talking fizzy drink?" and he says that he is a Lipsmacking Bubbly named Fizzy. He then asks who you are. Your monster says that they're a Super Moshi who crash-landed in an escape pod and needs help. Ask how to get inside the asteroid. He says that there's a mine entrance but it was blocked by meteorites, but if you put cosmic Rox on it, he can blow them up. Click Fizzy to put him in your inventory. Now, click Wally to see if he has any cosmic Rox. He says he does, but they're dangerous. You promise to not go near his ship and he says that he will give you the Rox if you correctly answer three questions: What's my pet called? (Rover), What happens to Cosmic Rox when you mix them with Fizzy? (they explode), and What's my profession? (you're a Cosmic Rox miner). He lets you have the Rox. Open your inventory and drag Cosmic Rox and Fizzy onto the meteorite by the washing line, and collect an E.P.I.C.S. award. Then, use another piece of Cosmic Rox and Fizzy to explode the pink meteorite. Click the Cosmic Rox that's in a hole, and then click on the mail box and pick up the Cosmic Rox that's inside. Now, open your inventory and drag them onto the asteroid, and use Fizzy to make them explode. Now, click to enter the mine. Wally tells you to watch out for Astro Gremlins.
In the mine, you see a sad-looking, broken car and a small blue creature. Open your inventory and drag Fizzy onto a big lump of Cosmic Rox and then click on the E.P.I.C.S. Now, click on the car. It just barks, but your monster can understand. Apparently, it's Rover and the Gremlins stole his parts. Click to play a game which involves clicking on the Gremlins to scare them away with light and get the pieces. One of them has an E.P.I.C.S. Click that before completing the game. Collect the parts and drag them onto Rover. Talk to Rover. Apparenlty, he asks if you need help. Your Super Moshi says that they need enough Cosmic Rox to shoot their escape pod back into space. Apparently, the gremlins have a whole stack of Cosmic Rox. One of them apologizes and promises to do anything if you'll stop flashing the light. Your Super Moshi explains that they need to move the Cosmic Rox under the escape pod. The gremlin then moves a stack of Cosmic Rox under the pod.
Back on the surface, Wally is happy to see Rover and explain about the gremlins and the Cosmic Rox. Fizzy successfully explodes the Rox and you blast off and the mission ends. To be continued. You can now adopt Fizzy.
This mission provides examples of
- Accessory-Wearing Cartoon Animal: Captain Squirk is briefly seen, wearing his helmet and boots as usual, and your Super Moshi wears their Super Moshi accessories.
- Aliens Speaking English: Your monster can communicate with the Zoshlings, Wally and the Astro Gremlins fine.
- Alliterative Name: Wally Warpspeed.
- Animate Inanimate Object: Fizzy is a talking fizzy drink.
- Asteroid Miners: Wally crashed when he was trying to mine an asteroid for Cosmic Rox.
- Bittersweet Ending: The main group gets a happy ending, but it's unknown if Wally got off the asteroid. Downplayed, however, because even if he doesn't, he seems quite happy there.
- Character Tics:
- Scarlet O'Hairia likes to fluff up her fur.
- Captain Squirk likes to dance on the spot.
- Damsel in Distress: Scarlet O'Hairia was stranded on the asteroid with the Super Moshi.
- Disney Death: Wally originally thought Rover was dead, but he wasn't.
- Distressed Dude: Downplayed for Rover and Fizzy. Rover was locked in the mine with his parts missing and Fizzy was locked in the spaceship. Both needed rescuing sooner or later but neither were in any immediate danger.
- Ditto Aliens: The Astro Gremlins all look very similar.
- Extreme Omnivore: In Fizzy's bio, it says that he eats cardboard.
- First-Name Basis: Your monster calls Wally Warpspeed and Scarlet O'Hairia by their first names.
- Fully-Dressed Cartoon Animal: Wally and the Astro Gremlins are all fully-dressed.
- Fun with Acronyms: It's not mentioned, but "E.P.I.C.S." stands for Extraordinary Performance In Catastrophic Situations.
- Humanoid Aliens: Captain Squirk, Wally Warpspeed and the Astro Gremlins don't look human, but they have a generally humanoid shape.
- Intelligible Unintelligible: Rover only barks, but your Super Moshi understands him.
- Meaningful Name:
- Fizzy, the soda bottle.
- Scarlet O'Hairia, the hairy creature.
- Mister Strangenoun: Wally's last name is Warpspeed, which is two words, and Fizzy's name is a word.
- Mr. Fixit: The Super Moshi fixes a TV and Rover.
- The Nameless: We don't know the names of any individual astro gremlin.
- Pun: The title seems to be a pun on "kick some ass"...on a kids' site.
- Red Is Heroic: Your Super Moshi wears a red cape and mask.
- Shout-Out: The character's name is Wally Warpspeed. Warp speed is a concept from Star Trek.
- Space Episode: This mission takes place in space, mostly on an asteroid.
- Speaks Fluent Animal: Your Super Moshi can communicate with Fizzy and Rover.
- Superheroes Wear Capes: Your Super Moshi wears a cape.
- Unsuccessful Pet Adoption: Fizzy appears to be Wally's pet, but due to him accidentally detonating the Cosmic Rox, Wally didn't want him anymore, so you end up keeping him.
- Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: Exaggerated. The Astro Gremlins are a whole species of individuals who are afraid of lights.
