"I have faith in you."

Orel learns that Jesus Christ would come back to Earth someday, and may already be here. After overhearing Clay and Bloberta talk about how Shapey was unplanned, he concludes that Shapey is the second coming of Christ. Meanwhile, Clay realizes that Bloberta had to have cheated on him to conceive Shapey, to which Bloberta demands a divorce.

On Christmas day, Orel tries to please "Jesus," leading the two to destroy the church's manger display. Suddenly, Bloberta intervenes and tells Orel about the divorce, while Orel's father is drowning his sorrows at Forghetty's. As a last resort, Orel prays to God to turn it around in the two minutes left of it.

Tropes present:

  • Christmas Episode: It's the first of two based on the holiday season.
  • Downer Ending: Orel's "best Christmas ever" is ruined by Clay discovering that Bloberta cheated on him to conceive Shapey and are heavily considering divorce; while Orel still hopes for a miracle to happen during the last two minutes of Christmas. While the episode implies a complete downer, the next episode reveals that Clay and Bloberta called off the divorce, if only for appearances.
  • Formula-Breaking Episode: This is the first episode where Clay doesn't take Orel to his Study.
  • Freeze-Frame Bonus: The church sign reads "Yes kids, we lied about Santa, but Jesus is for real."
  • Hypocritical Humor:
    • A Christian mob is protesting Christmas.
    • Orel destroys the Nativity scene at the behest of "Jesus."
  • Ironic Episode Title: It's a far cry from the best Christmas ever.
  • Jingle: Pizza Jo's has a lengthy one disguised as a typical Christmas song.
  • Jitter Cam: It's present during Clay and Bloberta's talk.
  • Mood Whiplash: A scene with an utterly despondent Bloberta lying in bed is sandwiched between lighthearted humor with Orel and Shapey.
