With her lab destroyed, Lunella, along with Devil and Casey, faces her most dangerous and personal mission yet to save Mimi from the Enclave.
Tropes:
- Brick Joke: Once again, Devil Dinosaur gets a mound of jellyfish stuck to his tail.
- Brought Down to Normal: Lunella never had any superpowers, but this episode has her infiltrate Maris' hideout with nothing but a specially designed "Stealth Hoodie" from Casey. All of her Moon Girl gear was destroyed when the Enclave wrecked her hidden lab last episode.
- Cliffhanger: The episode ends with Lunella forced to sacrifice herself by getting sucked through the portal in order to shut it down. Mimi then vows to rebuild it to get her back.
- Evil Cannot Comprehend Good: Maris can't understand why Mimi wouldn't want credit for the portal device (something she outright stated was dangerous), and he certainly can't understand why she'd given up her life as a scientist to work in the roller rink her husband started.
- Eye Awaken: The Stinger has Lunella's eyes popping open in surprise at where she ended up after getting sucked into the portal.
- Heroic Sacrifice: Lunella allows herself to be sucked up by the portal to shut the machine down, knowing that there's a possibility she won't come back.
- I Know Mortal Kombat: Casey knows about detective work, period architecture, and how to wield a bo staff by watching a lot of crime shows, home renovation shows, and bo staff cardio workouts online.
- Invisibility Cloak: Casey prepared a special "Stealth Sequin Hoodie" for Moon Girl that is covered in special sequins that, when turned over, make the wearer invisible.
- Kidnapped Scientist: Mimi, aka the original Moon Girl, is kidnapped so she can rebuild the portal device, as Maris knows where her family lives and is willing to hurt them should Mimi refuse to help him.
- Meet Cute: How Mimi met Pops. He was handing out fliers to get help in the roller rink, and Mimi crashed into him. It was Love at First Sight.
- Previously on…: The Beyonder gives a quick recap of the last episode at the beginning. He also skips past Lunella informing Casey of what she missed, since the audience already knows.
- Secret Secret-Keeper: This episode finally confirms that Mimi knew Lunella was Moon Girl the whole time, helping her by secretly cleaning the lab and washing her supersuit.
- The Stinger: Following the production company logos, there is a brief scene of Lunella waking up on the other side of the portal in an unknown location.
- Sympathy for the Devil: Even after her entire family was threatened, Mimi feels more sorry for Maris than angry since his Start of Darkness stemmed from having their credit erased from the portal generator project.
- Title-Only Opening: The intro forgoes the usual Title Sequence and just uses a shortened version of episode 1's opening with background noise.
- We Need a Distraction: Casey and Devil attract the attention of the guards while Moon Girl sneaks into the mansion to rescue Mimi.
- We Used to Be Friends: Mimi (via a flashback) remembers how she and Maris were close friends while working on the portal project. That all ended when he allowed their lab director to go to some terrible fate after he tried to sell their project without them present.
