The duo accept a mission to serve as escorts for a very odd bird with an incredibly high bounty. On the way to Oberon, they constantly have to fight bounty hunters while putting up with their client's shenanigans.
Tropes:
- All for Nothing: At the end, the duo is unable to fulfill their contract with Nobert due to Kara successfuly handing him over to his mother. Shrike does not take this well.
- Can't Kill You, Still Need You: Shrike makes it clear just how much he wants to off Nobert himself, but he is unable to because of the contract he is under with him which Beebs forbids him from breaking.
- Gory Discretion Shot: When the report over Chester McNevins's death is talked about, the reporter cuts to his corpse, but the scene cuts over to Beebs watching the news without showing it to the audience.
- Tempting Fate:
- After accepting the contract to bring Nobert to Oberon, Shrike makes a bet that the trip will be extremely boring. Cue Tyneen's crew barging in to capture Nobert and revealing the ten million bounty on his head, assuring the duo would have a plethora of bounty hunters after them.
- Once they reach Oberon, Shrike bets that Scratch and Tyneen will drop in at the last second. Just before Nobert can sign the contract as fulfilled, Scratch and Tyneen arrive to seize him.
- Travel Montage: After giving Scratch and Tyneen the slip, the travel to Oberon is shortened to most of the times Nobert either annoyed Shrike or got in trouble with bounty hunters that Shrike had to fight off.
