The Gundam's head gets shot off by the Zeong, though as mobile suit cockpits are generally placed in the torso, all Amuro loses for that is main camera usage. Inverted by the Zeong in turn, which is reduced to just its head once the Gundam gets a hit in. Ironically, the Zeong's cockpit is in the head.
With a bleeding head wound, fighting against distance, zero gravity and the Zanzibar's windshield, and with the space fortress collapsing around him, Char kills off Kycilia Zabi blasting her square in the head with a rocket launcher.
Clap Your Hands If You Believe: Invoked in the final moments. It looks like Katz, Letz and Kikka are cheering on Amuro from their side of the battlefield during the collaps of A Baoa Qu - but thanks to his Newtype abilities he really can hear them!
Freeze-Frame Bonus: Right as Kycilia takes a rocket to the face, viewers can briefly see bits of her flying about as the Zanzibar goes down in flames.
The Gundam, without it's head, destroys (and is destroyed by) the Zeong, which is now nothing but a head.
Char promises a dying Zeon soldier that he will protect Lady Kycilia with his life. Naturally the next scene is Char blowing her head off.
Mutual Kill: While obviously not Amuro and Char themselves, the Gundam and Zeong both fire shots that finish off the other mobile suit.
Oh, Crap!: Just as Kycilia gets into the bridge of her escape ship, she spots Char in front. With a bazooka.
Signature Scene: The Last Shooting scene, where a headless Gundam fires a final shot directly above to finish off the Zeong (ironically reduced to a head) right as the Zeong fires the finishing shot at Gundam as well.
Trash the Set: Our heroes lose the White Base and the Gundam.
