- Impact Silhouette: Doof leaves an outline of himself and his invention when he backs the De-gum-inator through a door, a fence, and a shrub.
- Mythology Gag: The gag with the substitute teacher's convention is a nod to the Phineas and Ferb special "Summer Belongs to You!".
- Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Doofenshmirtz unknowingly causes trouble while cleaning gum off the sidewalks of Danville, with his De-Gum-Inator causing a lot of property damage and even taking gum while people are still chewing it.
- Race Against the Clock: Once Old Bessie stops working, it must be repaired within the next 24 hours or its owner will be legally allowed to level it.
- Tempting Fate: After Victor Verlizer is defeated, he asks what else could go wrong and a giant ball of gum hits him.
