Recap / Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers S3E7 Ninja Quest Part 4

Go To

With their powers back, the Rangers must give their brand-new Ninjazords a trial by fire by facing Rito Revolto. Considering he destroyed their last set of Zords, are these new ones capable of succeeding? Meanwhile, Ninjor has his hands full at the temple battling Rito's final egg-gift to Rita and Zedd: the Vampirus monster! And finally, Bulk and Skull go through Junior Police Patrol boot camp. Do they stand a chance?

Tropes

  • Berserk Button: Evil just makes Ninjor so angry.
  • Borrowed Catchphrase: Just before he's blasted for good, Vampirus shouts Alpha's "Aye-yi-yi!"
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: The Rangers use their new Ninja Zords for the first time and beat the living hell out of Rito Revolto as payback for the destruction of the Dino Power Coins and the Thunder Zords a few episodes prior.
  • Evolving Credits: The proper Season 3 intro debuts here.
  • Informed Ability: After the villains spent two whole episodes building up Vampirus to be this unbelievably powerful creature capable of annihilating the Power Rangers with little to no trouble, Vampirus turned out to be a complete joke, finding himself on the wrong end of a Curb-Stomp Battle by Ninjor and the newly acquired Ninja Megazord.
  • Irony: Zedd is enraged that their victory in Part 1 has ultimately resulted in the Rangers gaining more powerful Zords.
  • Oh, Crap!: Rito, seconds before the Ninja MegaFalconzord slams its finishing attack fists into him.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: As fans surmised, outside summoning the Zords, the Rangers do no poses, and make no attack calls. They're completely silent, all business, and that business is breaking Rito in two for destroying the Thunder Zords.
  • Pre-Mortem One-Liner: "You're through, Vampirus, and here's the reason why!"
  • Spared by the Adaptation: Rito's Sentai counterpart, Gashadokuro, was killed when the Ninja Megazord debuted. The show changed this to him fleeing.
  • Surrounded by Idiots: After Vampirus is destroyed, Zedd bemoans this.
  • Tempting Fate: After the Ninja Megazord is formed, Rito feels one target instead of five makes for better odds.
  • Theme Song Power Up: Happens during Rito's beatdown. Especially significant because it actually goes into the second verse, something never done before or since.
  • This Is Gonna Suck: Rito pulls back when he sees his cannon isn't even slowing down the newly formed Ninja Megazord from marching right towards him.
  • Training Montage: Bulk & Skull training to join the police.
  • Unflinching Walk: The Ninja Megazord, as Rito opens fire with his cannon and causes assorted explosions near it.
