Recap / Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers S3E35 Alien Rangers of Aquitar Part 2

Go To

Master Vile's Monster Conference results in a large group of armored monsters, under the command of Professor Longnose, ready to strike the now-defenseless Earth! Zordon and Alpha make contact with the Power Rangers of the planet Aquitar, and convince them to come to help save Angel Grove. But how long can these water-based beings last the dry terrain of our world? Plus, the reunion of the Ranger kids with their mentors is cut short when Rito & Goldar place an implosion device outside the Command Center!

Tropes:

  • Being Evil Sucks: “Sometimes I really hate being a bad guy.” —Finster
  • Big "YES!": An elated Zedd yells this when Master Vile finally leaves.
  • Call-Back: Corcus, the Black Alien Ranger, mentions never seeing so many monsters in one place. Zack, the original Black Ranger, said the same thing in "Orchestral Maneuvers in the Park".
  • Didn't See That Coming: Zedd admits he never thought he'd be happy to see the good guys win, but since it led to his hated father-in-law finally leaving, he feels like celebrating.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: While he wasn't seen, Alpha 6 is mentioned.
  • Foreshadowing: This won't be the last time Goldar and Rito plant an implosion device to destroy the Command Center. And unfortunately, the next time will be much more effective.
  • Noodle Incident: Cestro explains that the Alien Rangers received their powers and Battle Borgs from Ninjor.
  • Put on a Bus:
    • With time being reversed, Adam and Billy comment on how Ninjor is back in his temple and thus unavailable to help out.
    • Master Vile leaves for his own galaxy, much to Zedd's delight.
  • Rage Quit: Master Vile's reaction to the Alien Rangers defeating his army, declaring he's going home where the bad guys always win.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here:
    • After Professor Longnose is destroyed by the Shogun Megazord, the remaining monsters flee. One of them can even be heard shouting, "We better get outta here!"
    • With the plan a bust, Master Vile says he's sick of this place and storms back to his own galaxy.
  • Smooch of Victory: Zedd is so ecstatic over Master Vile finally leaving that he gives Goldar one of these on the forehead. Zedd is just that "very, very happy" about this development, but Goldar doesn't share his enthusiasm.
  • Supporting Protagonist: For the rest of the mini-season, the now-child Rangers step down until the Earth returns to normal.
  • Team Hand-Stack: The Rangers do this with the Alien Rangers at the end.
  • Villainous Breakdown: Master Vile throws a whiny tantrum over his "foolproof plan" being foiled by the Alien Rangers. Even Rita (no stranger to this trope herself) thinks this is an embarrassing display.
  • Wire Dilemma: Alpha experiences this when disarming the implosion device. Fortunately, he succeeds.
  • You Have to Believe Me!: Bulk and Skull try to tell everyone the "new superheroes" are aliens.
  • You Look Familiar: Delphine's actress Rajia Baroudi previously played Azina in “Final-Face Off”.
