Feeling betrayed and confused, the Ranger teens have a tough time coping with the notion that Alpha and Zordon are turning someone other than Tommy into their newest teammate. Eventually, they're summoned to the Command Center, where the White Ranger is revealed. Whether they like him or not, the White Ranger and his White Tigerzord are needed to take out Nimrod, and AC, and DC. The other Rangers, meanwhile, have to beat Zedd's Putties in a race to reach Rita's Dumpster before Bulk and Skull can open it!
Tropes
- All Just a Dream: What Bulk and Skull believed they had of Rita.
- Call-Back: Nimrod tells Tommy "history will repeat itself", likely referring to how he lost the Green Ranger powers.
- Continuity Snarl: When Kim and the other rangers go to stop Rita, a squad of putties gets in their way. She declares that Zedd must be trying to get Rita too, but Zedd himself is never shown to be aware that Rita ever crashed on Earth.
- Faint in Shock:
- Kimberly faints when she first sees who the White Ranger is.
- Upon seeing miniature Rita, a bewildered Bulk and Skull pass out. It prevents them from seeing the Rangers appear and lock Rita up again.
- Foregone Conclusion: When this episode first aired, pretty much everyone figured out who the White Ranger would be.
- Foreshadowing: Tommy taking over as leader of the Power Rangers over Jason is an indication that the latter wouldn't be around much longer.
- Gave Up Too Soon: Bulk and Skull give up just as they've finally opened Rita's dumpster.
- He's Back!: Tommy is revealed to be the White Ranger and the new leader of the Power Rangers.
- Implacable Man: The MegaTigerzord; as it casually walks up to the Monster of the Week and smacks it and its clones around.
- Unusually Uninteresting Sight: Variation; despite being initially shocked, the rangers seem less concerned about Rita's dumpster landing back on Earth and her possibly being a threat again and more worried that Rita might blab their secret identities to Bulk and Skull. This despite the fact that Rita, while knowing who they are, never once used their identities to benefit herself or formulated a plan around it.
- Wham Shot: The White Ranger taking his helmet off.
