The destruction of the environment frees the demon of violence from the confinement of ages. In trying to contain it, Norman starts giving in to his violent urges himself.
Tropes:
- Adaptational Badass: Lockjaw from the toyline certainly was a dangerous character, being an axe-wielding psycho-killer and all. The version invented for the cartoon's an unkillable demon, wielding an axe made of divine metal.
- An Aesop: Don't make decisions in anger, and despite how Hollywood portrays them, violence and death are not cool.
- Gory Discretion Shot: At the beginning when Lockjaw murders the lumberjacks with their own chainsaw and we only hear the screams. Later Norman enters a cabin and sees the remains of another victim just offscreen, which he and Virgil refuse to let Max see for himself.
- Green Aesop: Yeah, obviously we should try to preserve the environment. The episode mostly leaves the viewer to pick it up on their own.
