Recap / Mighty Max S 1 E 10 Bring Me The Head Of Mighty Max

Go To

Enraged at his captivity at the center of the Earth, Skullmaster awakens an army of zombies to hunt down Max and steal the cap.

Tropes:

  • Dead Hat Shot: The cap floating down onto a branch after Skullmaster and the original Mighty One fall into the portal to the Earth's core, suggesting what Skullmaster did to him after they were there.
  • Demanding Their Head: The trope Invoked in the episode's title, a clear reference to Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia. However, the episode's subject matter itself concerns attempts at attaining Max's baseball cap, rather than his whole head.
  • Fanservice: We first see Max and his friends on a beach trip. Definitely not because of the sorority girl volleyball tournament that day.
  • Implacable Man: The zombies certainly look frail, but shrug off every blow Max and Norman give them.
  • My Greatest Failure: How Skullmaster ended up trapped at the center of the Earth involved the original Mighty One being trapped there along with him. Since we never see this character alive, Skullmaster's obviously supposed to have killed him. Virgil feels tremendously guilty over letting that happen to his old friend, and his willingness to do anything to spare Max from death at the zombies' hands indicates he already sees Max as a surrogate son.
  • Our Zombies Are Different: They're super-strong, basically invincible, and can follow Max's cap around at frankly absurd rates of speed with the way all of them are able to congregate at the mountain where the episode ends.
  • Your Soul Is Mine!: We find out in this episode the Crystal of Souls isn't jut a colorful name; it gets its power by absorbing peoples' souls.
