Recap / Mickey Mouse S 5 E 17 Gone To Pieces

Go To

"Gone to Pieces" is the 17th episode of Season 5 of the new Mickey Mouse (2013) series created by Paul Rudish for the Disney Channel and Disney.com. It is the 95th in the series.

Donlad is spending some time at Mickey's house, when Goofy shows up with some cocktail wieners. As they do a toast to friendship, Mickey suddenly notices that Goofy came with roller skates. Before Goofy can explain, he has a huge accident with the skates, which literally brings him to pieces. Mickey and Donald are shocked, and decide to put him back together, but end up making Goofy look like a pogo stick.

Goofy bounces around insanely, before going back to pieces. Mickey finds a picture of him, Donald and Goofy, and decides to use it as a blueprint to help them put Goofy back together. After a second attempt at rebuilding him, they stack his parts up. That's when Mickey and Donald decide to take things seriously.

They go into the garage, and use tools to rebuild him, but they end up making him look like a car.

After a crazy drivearound, Goofy is once again brought to pieces. Mickey and Donald are about to give up, When Mickey gets an idea, and pulls a crazy trick that brings Goofy back together, in the reverse way he came apart.

After that, Mickey and Donald save Goofy from having the accident again, and Goofy also finishes his explanation of why he had roller skates when he came in: his unicycle was in the shop. The trio hug, only for Goofy to hug Mickey and Donald so tight, he brings them to pieces.

Tropes:

  • Group Hug: Once Mickey and Donald finally succeed in putting Goofy back together, the trio share a hug.
  • Here We Go Again!: The short ends with the repaired Goofy hugging Mickey and Donald so hard that they end up falling apart.
  • It Runs on Nonsensoleum: Mickey's plan to reassemble Goofy by bouncing his pieces and having them reverse his falling apart is lampshaded by Donald to only work because it'd be completely Goofy for that to be the solution.
  • Literally Shattered Lives: Goofy's pieces are unconscious until they are put back together, with Mickey and Donald acting as if he just died.
  • Now Do It Again, Backwards: In the end, Mickey Mouse successfully puts Goofy's body parts back together by having him travel in the backwards direction of when he ended up crashing and falling to pieces.
  • Pulling Themselves Together: Mickey and Donald try to reassemble Goofy. The first two times fail; the third time they simply throw the pieces in the reverse direction where they fell and let them reassemble themselves.
