Go To

"Two Can't Play" is the 15th episode of Season 5 of the new Mickey Mouse (2013) series created by Paul Rudish for the Disney Channel and Disney.com. It is the 93rd in the series.

Mickey and Minnie go head to head with Donald and Daisy in a game of doubles tennis. However, the mice will do anything to win...

Tropes:

  • Big "WHAT?!": Donald and Daisy let this one out in surprise when Mickey and Minnie finally score. While they were on a massage session in court!
  • Cheaters Never Prosper: When Mickey and Minnie are discovered to be cheating, Donald and Daisy declare themselves the winners and perform a Drench Celebration - which then shorts out their own gear, exposing them as cheaters as well. In the end, they decide to all play fairly, and although neither play very well, they at least have fun.
  • Clothes Make the Superman: Mickey and Minnie use a pair of electronic wristbands that enable them to play tennis better. It works out fine, until they high-five each other and short out the bands in the process, exposing them as cheaters. It then turns out that Donald and Daisy were using the same technology, only on their entire outfits.
  • Jerkass: Donald and Daisy cheat against Mickey and Minnie, they soon learn from this in the end.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Donald and Daisy in the end.
  • Shout-Out: Mickey and Minnie's multiplied tennis ball serve combo (When Mickey and Minnie turn up their electronic wristbands' dial to the final level) comes to mind Shurikenger's Finishing Move, albeit a tennis version of a combined Super Ninja Art: Secret Hitting Thousand Knock and its variant, the Miracle Thousand Knock.
  • Toplessness from the Back: Daisy is unclothed for the very first time onscreen during her massaging session.
  • Torso with a View: One of Daisy's serves sends the ball right through Mickey's head, leaving a hole on his face. In typical cartoon fashion, he's fine in the next scene.
  • Unsportsmanlike Gloating: Donald and Daisy aren't much fun for Mickey and Minnie to play against, since they constantly rub it in the other team's faces whenever they win a match. This is what motivates Mickey and Minnie to use the electronic wristbands so they can finally win for once.
