Go To

"Over The Moon" is the 13th episode of Season 5 of the new Mickey Mouse (2013) series created by Paul Rudish for the Disney Channel and Disney.com. It is the 91th in the series.

Mickey and Minnie are led around the world on a never-ending quest for romance by their biggest fan, the Moon. The episode also features Tom Kenny as the voice of the moon.

Tropes:

  • The Big Damn Kiss: Invoked. After several interrupted attempts, Mickey and Minnie end up sharing a passionate, yet prolonged, kiss in order to distract the moon until morning comes, forcing him to call it a night.
  • Blinding Camera Flash: Just as Mickey and Minnie are about to kiss in Paris, they are suddenly blinded by the moon taking pictures with his phone.
  • Cue the Sun: Mickey and Minnie distract the moon with a long kiss until the sun comes up and, giving him a Death Glare, sends him back under the horizon.
  • Eiffel Tower Effect: The first place the moon takes them is night time dinner in front of the Eiffel Tower.
  • No Ending: The short just ends with Mickey and Minnie stranded on a mountain, with no conceivable way down.
  • The Face of the Sun: And yes, he does put on sunglasses.
  • The Man in the Moon: Not only that, but he's also sentient with hands, as well as capable of traveling across the world in the blink of an eye.
  • Shipper on Deck: Deconstructed. The Moon is so supportive of Mickey and Minnie's relationship, that he ends up becoming a Third Wheel, taking them on an unwanted world tour, when all they really want is to call it a night.
  • Shout-Out: A boy and girl going on a romantic trip across the world...? But this time without a song...?
  • Your Size May Vary: The moon's size shifts between being actual size, to about the size of a small mountain.
