"Swimmin' Hole" is the first season 4 short of the new Mickey Mouse (2013) series created by Paul Rudish for the Disney Channel and Disney.com. It's the 59th to air on the Disney Channel and to be put up on Disney.com
Mickey, Donald, and Goofy to get back their swimming hole when Pete steals it.
Tropes:
- Defeat Means Friendship: Played with. Mickey, Donald, and Goofy's fracas with Pete to get the stolen swimming hole back results in the swimming hole being destroyed, so nobody technically wins, but after the new swimming hole is created, Mickey is all too happy to let Pete join him and his friends.
- Deus ex Machina: After the swimmin' hole is destroyed, all the water from it collects into the hole that was left when it was stolen, creating a new swimming hole.
- Loophole Abuse: Subverted and Played for Laughs. Pete tried to get away from stealing the swimming hole by claiming there’s no law against stealing. Mickey points out the obvious that yes, there is such a law.
- Shout-Out: The water falling to form a new swimming hole parodies the "April Showers" sequence in Bambi.
- Steal the Surroundings: Pete steals the swimming hole by digging the earth around it and putting it on the back of his truck.
- X-Ray Sparks: Mickey, Donald, and Goofy get electrocuted and have their skeletons made visible in the process when they try to get past Pete's electric fence.
